    SET APART

To be set apart from something you love can be very devastating. Your heart feels empty because you have been separated from the usual lifestyle that you are so familiar with. Anything that you are comfortable with that's a part of your everyday lifestyle, can prove to be a very traumatic experience, when it's suddenly taken away.

This book denotes my personal story of why God intervened and took me away to a place where I could be renewed in my mind and heart to be set apart for a more genuine work for Him in days to come.

    CHAPTER 1

Why Did You Take Me Away?

Being suddenly separated from your spouse, job, children, or any relationship that you are in covenant with, results in great pain and suffering when you find yourself suddenly set apart from the very things and people that you have invested so much of your time in, and put your trust and heart into. It's a very difficult experience when you are forced to adapt in a separation from the norm.

For many us living in the United States today, we are very conformed to the things of this world, and this mindset is what kept me from being prepared for a separation from the things I loved and put first in my life before God but, at the same time, that lack of preparation is what awakened me to the necessary 'mindset change' that I so desperately needed. This is my testimony of how God brought me back to His Truth. Therefore, transparency is key.

    Mathew 4:8 reads:

Again the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world and the glory of them and saith unto him all these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.

Here in scripture, you see Satan trying to distort Jesus' perspective by trying to get him to focus on worldly things and power and not on God's plans. Satan offered to Jesus the entire world if he would only kneel before him and worship him.

Today, Satan offers us the world by trying to entice us with the same materialism and power. This chapter is called, Why Did You Take Me Away? There are times when there may be a need, depending on the road we find ourselves going down, for Jesus to suddenly and abruptly intervene in our lives and separate us so that we may find a true and new love for Him. When we choose to deny ourselves, take up our crosses and choose to die
