UNREQUITED LOVE
The thought of love pierces through the soul
Like a rainbow elevating one’s mood,
In an array of purple, vibrant indigo sky.
This feeling of joy which so
Profoundly emanates from the evergreen
Forest of heartfelt dreams to at last
reunite with a soul mate.
Yellow sunflowers, orange blossoms, glossy scarlet hibiscus,
Enhancing the burning passion
Set in the enclave of the wombs
Already ploughed* and polished.
Hoping for the seed of the strong oak tree
To fecund and to flourish in order to express the unequivocal
Proof of a legitimate common destiny.
Love is magnificent if one embodies it
Abundantly every second of every minute, be it
with images, words and actions.
Unrequited love has become an escape from
Every day’s life problems,
A distraction from solving major issues which hurt too much,
Or a fear of tackling life long dis-ease*.
Unrequited love is as if someone who cannot swim
Decides to explore the ocean on a buoy
Hoping that it will protect and save him if danger occurred.
The tool, here, the buoy, is as supportive
As one inner strength can master it with knowledge, discipline and alertness.
Without any interpersonal skills one will more likely
End up dragged by life tides, currents, and
These elements which are well outside one’s control.
One will be frighten, bitten by sharks*, and staring at death in
What is the deep end of the sea of harsh reality.
Only proficiency and perseverance will stir one back to safety.
If unconsciously you boarded on the fast train
Towards unrequited love territory be it: alcohol,
Money, work, sex, drugs, addictive substances,
Obsessive and destructive behaviours,
That person you don’t know yet but think that somehow will
Instil powerful love into your life, hatred, and so on,
Which do not serve your higher purposes of inner peace.
How about if you jump off right now?
You are stronger, more giving, loving,
Intelligent, worthy, compassionate, fun, more beautiful
And much more of whatever else sensations you seek out
From the object of your desire than you think.
If only you could be still and listen to your soul’s answers.
If only you could quiet down this eternal chatterbox in your head, the ego.
You will finally love yourself like we humans were mean to
Cherish ourselves and attract true lasting love.
