About the Author
Introduction
How do I love running, let me count the ways….
We love running, plain and simple. But why do we love running so much? That’s a good question.
Everybody has their reasons for why they love running, but how many people you know have created their personal list? That’s what I decided to do one day: make my personal list. Once I began the list, I kept adding to it, and list continued to grow….up to 101!
This is my list I want to share. Some of these reasons may be similar to yours (as a reminder of how much runners have in common), and I know this list isn’t all-inclusive. Also, there are a lot of reasons that are on your list, but not on this one. As you read this list, I want you to think about all the reasons why you run; why you get up so early, why you put yourself through the pain and agony (along with the road, trail, and weather conditions) of running or competing in races big and small, near your home or far away. Think about why you do it every week, every month, and every year.
As for this list, please feel free to share them with others (and if you want to share with me, please like/post to my Twitter and Facebook page, or send to my email address is 101Reasons2Luv@gmail.com; I look forward to reading your comments and posts).
My mission (and I choose to accept it) is to accumulate enough responses to include in my next book: 101 More Reasons to Love Running, Volume Two!
I hope this book serves as extra inspiration and motivation in your running and racing goals. If you’re a beginner, or not running as often as you should, maybe these reasons can be your wake-up call to be more active.
Enjoy your reading, and I hope to see you in the next race or out on a running trail!
To my wife Dianna, for not objecting too much when I run early in the morning or on weekends
And my boys Matthew and Joshua for embracing the joys of running
Runner’s Creed
By
Tyler Moore
I am a runner.
The sunrise is my alarm clock
My start and finish line is my doorstep
My trophy is a PR
My biggest competition is myself
My next challenge is the next race
My glory comes from within.
I am a runner.
My path is made of concrete, paved roads,
dirt, rocks, recycled tires,
sand, boardwalks, and treadmills.
My hurdles are the wind, rain, heat, and snow.
The world is my running trail, perfect for all seasons.
I am a runner.
Chapter 1
The Starting Line
Reasons 1 – 5
1. Whether its morning, noon, or night, there’s always a good time to run
Everybody has a favorite time (or a convenient time) to run. For me, it’s always been the early morning runs. To wake up well rested after a good night’s sleep, complete my morning stretches, and have the road waiting me, it’s a great way to start my day.
There’s something about early
