PUSH, DON’T PUNISH

Goal-focused body preparation has been on my daily to-do list for most of my twenties and going into my thirties.

It wasn’t until repeated episodes of burnout that I realised that in the marvelous journey of exploring my body’s limitations, my training had become toxic. It was punishment (for yesterday’s poorer performance), selfcentred (because today’s performance was better than any previous days’) and self-defeating (because the chase for ‘fastest, strongest, best’ was to be rewarded one glorious day in the tomorrows of never). Imagine entering yourself into a race without an end (an infinity ultra?).
