    SELF AWARENESS OF INTERNET BUSINESSES

    Why Self Awareness?

    Your first step to building your own Internet business successfully is to be aware of the business opportunities that abound on the Internet and the various business models that can be used as a springboard to launch your business.

    In the offline world you know how you are going to start a business – i.e. you register your business, build or rent a factory, employ your staff, buy your materials to make your product, keep stock, market your product, sell your product, deliver your product and finally receive your payments through checks or banker’s letters of credit. However, in the online world, the way that you can conduct business can be radically different from the offline world. You need a paradigm shift in your thinking on the type and how business can be carried out in the borderless online world.

    On the Internet, you can successfully conduct businesses that do not require you to have a physical product of your own, or require you to own or rent factory premises, or employ hundreds of staff, or keep stock or physically deliver your product to your customers. You are no longer restricted to selling only your physical product in your restricted geographical location or need to feel inferior to compete with your industry giants like Wal-Mart, IBM, Nike, Sony and other big boys with deep pockets! Once you have set up your web business, your web site can be the store front to the world and placed side by side with the web sites of these giants. Your store front web site has the same opportunity to be visited by people as these giants! Without awareness of the unique opportunities and differences that an online business can offer, you will not be able to fully reap the benefits and earn good income from the web. The purpose of this Chapter or, for that matter this book, is to acquaint you with the awareness of the uniqueness and limitless opportunities that can be gained from conducting business on the Internet. These opportunities are only limited to your imagination!
