    Chapter 1

    New Home

My name is Finn Lee. I was born on March 29, 1997. I am fifteen years of age. Most of my life I lived in and orphanage. Most people I have told me that I was cute. In fact, I have my mother’s green eyes and my father’s black hair. I am not a big guy in the least. My mother’s name was Margret Mallow and my father’s name was Fai Lee. My mother lived in a small house next to Mount Holyoke College. As I could remember my father worked next to the college and met my mother at the local commons.

At least that is what he told me; when I was younger if that was true. When I was born my mother died do to some internal bleeding. Mother wanted to have me naturally. Therefore, I never had been to a hospital. If she had me in a hospital, she would have lived. When I was five years of age my father became depressed and blamed me for her death. One day I came home from being drop off from school I found him lifeless. He had killed himself with bottle of liquor and sleeping pills.

As I grew up in the orphanage, I found myself being bullied by the older children. It was not just the boys; the girls also did things to me when I was so very young. Honestly, I did not have such happy childhood. We all have secrets and it was the real reason my mother died. Truthfully, I have beautiful white wings. Now you must be thinking, wings. How can he have wings everyone in the world would know the boy with wings. That was the strange part of it. The wings I had where invisible to all humans. I can even fly with them. I figured out long ago to bind my wings close together.

The problem with that is I can only pin them together for so long. When I turned fifteen an uncle that I did not know about told the half-way house that he wanted to see me. The only problem is that he lived in Japan in a small town called Oshima. He sent me plane tickets and everything I would need to find him. It took me a little bit over twenty hours to get to Japan. I did know how to talk a little bit of Japanese and even write. Therefore, I could understand the signs mostly. I noticed a sign held up by a driver dressed in black. He held up a sign with my name on it. This had to be the car my uncle sent to pick me up.

I followed him to a very large limo. I had seen them before, but this was the first time I had been in one. After a while, we ended up at a very large house on a hillside. The door opened I noticed a man standing their wearing a suit.

Somehow, I knew this was not my uncle. He was too young. So, I followed the man into the house. That is when I noticed many maids were around. When we first entered the house, I could see the house had two stairs running up each side to at least three floors. I wondered how many room it had.

I followed him into a room with many books in it. He pointed to a chair so I sat down. My uncle must have a lot of money to have a house this big. I sat there for a while and waited, but no one came back for me. A very cute young maid came in and placed a plate of food and bow before she left. I ate everything I could because I was not sure what to expect. The same guy came back for me to follow him again. We ended upstairs in a small office room. My uncle was in a large chair at the desk.

Did your father ever tell you about the clan, he asked?

    Clan..., I said.

Your father was going to become the leader of the Clan of the Hata Empire. Since he took his life, it now falls on you. Finish school then we will in role you in college for business. You will not live here. You will have your own house to live at and with an expenses allowance. This way you can understand money. I will not baby you and expect you to follow everything I say. Do you understand, he asked?

    Yes, I said.

I was too tired to say anything, but yes. The man who had me follow him around brought me back down to the car. We drove for a while and I must have fallen sleep. I noticed we stopped at a long black metal fence. The man opened the door and I stepped out. The black gate seemed large, but you could not see through it. He unlocked the gate and walked in. I followed him inside the house. This was a very strange house. It was very big and it seemed to big just for me.

Is this house mine, I asked?

"Keys are here. Your money is here. The maids will come at end of week to clean.

I suggest to you is to go buy food for tomorrow. The market is down this road. If you need anything, the paper on the table has my number. The cell phone on the table is yours too. You will start school on Monday and your uniform will be here before then. You have a few days so look for the school down this same street follow the edge of the water. Your suitcase and items are in one of the rooms. You can call me Hitoshi," he said.

Thank you, I said to him.

He bowed before leaving. I did not know what to expect, but it seems my life is about to change. As I wondered around the house I found the room that my stuff was tossed in. It was huge and it seemed to have some furniture in it. Carefully I placed all my items in the draws. As I looked around I found the bathroom and placed all my items in it. It seems I have more items to buy for the bathroom. This bathroom had a huge mirror in it and it was helpful to untie my wings. Slowly I stretched them out since it was so painful keeping them like that. While searching the house I also found the kitchen and it was empty of food. On the counter, I noticed a note with the directions to the market and school. It only had that one number on it.

I looked at the money he left me. It was a lot of money more than I would have thought I would be getting.

After the long travel, I was dead tired and decided to get some sleep but I woke up at the wrong time. All this traveling was messing up my internal clock. In the house, I found it had a full-size bath and even a Jacuzzi. This house was a puzzle for me what was it used for. In the end, I took a walk as I was instructed. The walk into town seemed very long and I was tired by the time I reached the towns square. Since I never had been really alone I did not know what to buy.

So, I bought what I think was some type of fish and some rice. While looking at the fish it made me pounder how was I going to cook it. The thought of cooking gave me a stomach ack. As I was in shop I found the normal toilet items I would need. Including a toothbrush and some other items I would also need. As I passed by a row of can soup I noticed chowder and when I reached for it, I ended up grabbing a small hand. In a rush, I pulled my hand back when I noticed it was attached to a very beautiful girl. She had long dark hair with soft brown eyes.

    I’m sorry, she said.

From being shy I turned away from her and walked to the counter. In the end, I paid for everything and walked out. How could I talk to her I thought? As I walked up the road I noticed it was longer than I remembered. Since I was tired I started to walk back home. When I reached my new home I slowly open the gate and stepped in the yard. When I was shutting the door, I noticed the same girl walk past the house. All I could do is shrugged it off and went into the house. It was not that I was going to talk to her anyways. To be honest I liked being alone. Most people think I don’t talk much. It was because I had been bullied all my life.

This house was perfect for me as I opened my wings. In the kitchen, I tried to cook the fish and it ended up being burnt. The rice also did not come out so well. I was not much of a cook it seems. The following day I went to find the school. It took me over thirty minutes to walk to the gates of the school. So, I looked around and this school seemed big. Since the school was boring I headed back home. From the road, I had taken you could see the beautiful beach. My feet bothered me so I took a break to watch the waves. The hill ran from the road right to the beach.

I felt great to spread out my wings the breeze. I can even curl my wing around me. This made it easier to clean the feathers. I also noticed I was very light for a human. When I returned home I found myself looking at each room of the house. Every room seemed so empty so I wondered into the garden. The grounds seemed to be well taken care of. As I looked around I also noticed another building on the far edge of the grounds. The door of this building was locked and none of the keys seemed to work.

In my mind, I knew I will get into this building. For now, I had one more day before I had to go to school. After a while of exploring I went inside to take a nap. Suddenly I woke up with a knock at the door. Slowly I opened the door to the house and noticed the same black limo that dropped me off. One of the cutest maids I had ever seen was standing there. Then I noticed at least six of them.

Master can we clean the house, she asked?

She never looked up at me. I moved aside for them to do what they needed to do. The same man with the suit I had met before came over to me and handed me the school uniform.

You start school tomorrow. Go to the head office. It is almost the middle of the school year already. So, you will have to do some catching up, he said.

It took them only an hour to clean the house before they left. I bowed before he walked back to the car. I closed the door to the house. It bothered me to have them stopping bye like this. They all left after they finished cleaning. It dawned on me that I had nothing to eat. The food I had bought was only for a day. In a way, I eat like a bird so I did not want to buy a lot of food plus I had to walk five miles for it. All I could do is give up and head back to my room. While I was reading a book in my room I heard the door knock again. When I open the door, it was the same maid. I thought about it that they had left about thirty minutes ago.

She asked with her head still lowered to me, Sorry master, but we noticed the food that was burned. Do you need food?

    No need, I whispered.

We already bought some for you, she said.

I stepped aside to let her in. I noticed that the car was gone already. So why is she here?

I’m going to cook you some dinner. Please forgive me, but I do not want the master to get sick, she said.

    Your name, I asked?

    Aiko Hyogo, she said.

She bowed to me before heading into the kitchen. I walked back to my room and shut the door. She was cute; dressed as a maid. My heart did not want her to serve me anything. With my life, the way it was I just want to be left alone. As I looked around my room I noticed I had a few boxes to open.

The boxes were filled with more books so I placed the books I had on the only two selves in my room. The last box I opened was the hardest to unpack. It was the only thing I had from my mother. I was going to pull what I had in it out when I heard a soft knock on the door. I pushed the box in the closet and opened the door to the room.

    Dinner is served, she said.

Dinner it is not even lunch, I whispered.

You are right then I will have to make something for later. Unless there are enough leftovers, she said while holding her mouth as an expression.

I followed her back to the kitchen as slow as I could. She had this whole table setup with food. I had never seen before. She waited until I sat down before she did. The tables in Japan were low to the ground and I was to normal tables in the states and this was not normal to me. I found out that sitting while trying to eat at a table that was two feet off the ground was not fun for me. Plus, I was also used to eating with forks and knifes, but here we use two sticks to eat with. After a moment of dropping my food with each attempt, I was getting really mad.

My temper won and I through the sticks across the room. Ok I was being stubborn so I stood and left the room. While I sat on my bed huffing I tried to keep my temper down. As it was I could hardly breathe as I heard a soft knock at the door again.

I’m sorry master it is my fault. Sorry I didn’t know, she said.

In the end, I did not say a word to her I just wanted to be left alone. All I could do is curled up on the bed and fell asleep. When I opened my eyes, I could see that I was covered. How did I get here I thought as I rubbed my eyes?

Then I remembered as I moved out of bed. Trying to wake up I looked around the room and then headed to the bathroom. It was morning and I took a bath so I can wash away my feelings. Carefully I stepped out of the water and placed my robe on. Then I looked at the mirror and my wet wings. To be honest I hate getting them wet. Because how long it took to dry them and it seemed all I had was a towel.

After a while of drying the feathers off …I wondered into the kitchen out of boredom.

Maybe I should say that I was sorry to her next time I see her. Was it early since I had no idea how long I slept. I have not set up my alarm clock yet. It seemed I didn’t sleep long since the sun was setting. As I turned into the kitchen I noticed Aiko was curled up next to the table. She was sound asleep. The food had been covered and she must have waited for me. Why has she not leave yet as I thought she would have left by now.

Because I felt so bad I slowly picked her up and carried her to my bed. Carefully I placed her down on my bed. Her ruffled skirt rode up her leg and I could see her panties. In a rush, I hurried and covered her up.

Out of hunger I shuffled back to the kitchen and reheated the food. She left the chopsticks on the table. In the end, I had to learn how to use them. As I tried to eat I thought I would need lots of practice with them. I felt, as I was not going to get the hang of them so I used my hands to eat. The food was good and I felt horrible. After I finished my plate of food I think in record time I washed my hands off and cleaned the table off.

Then I took the leftovers and placed them in the fridge. Since it was soon to be night I stepped outside the house and closed the door. The night air was crisp and I could see the moon. Every night I tried to use my wings to see if I could fly.  Like always I did get off the ground only a foot or two. Carefully I lightly landed back on the ground. When I turned around to go back in the house I noticed Aiko was standing at the door watching me. I stood their frozen at first. Well this turned out bad I thought. Then I noticed she was sleep. She sleeps walks I thought. She took a step and fell over. I ran over and cached her. She woke up in my arms.

    Sorry, I whispered.

Master; I’m sorry I forget that I sleep walk sometimes, she said while bowing away.

I let her go fast because I have a fear of being touched by anyone. While I was younger I was basically raped by a group of girls when I was six and beaten almost to death at that age. This made me anti-social and scared all the time. I had never been love nor did I know how to love back. To me I was a lost soul who did not know what he was. I also did not care for anyone nor even had a true friend.

Why are you here, I asked?

Did they not tell you master. I will be living here from now on, she said.

So that is why I had so much money. It was not just for me it was also for her. I felt very uneasy about this setup. Where was she going to sleep I thought? She does not even have any clothes to wear.

I will be getting my stuff tomorrow master. So, do not worry about me. I will pick one of the empty rooms to sleep in tonight, she said.

She bowed and heading back in the house. I followed her in the house.

I looked in my closet and found two more blankets. She found a room she liked. The room was so empty. Now I felt bad for her to be here with me. It was a fact I was not someone who is worth having a maid for. With her help, we dropped the blankets down so she had something to sleep. After she was setup I left the room to see if I had something in my room she could have. I did have a travel pillow that I grabbed for her. Slowly I handed her the pillow.

    Thank you master, she said.

I closed the door of my room and looked around my room. I changed the clocks to the correct time. So, I would be ready for school and not late. In my room, I had a few candles so I picked up the candle off the shelf and headed to her room. Slowly I opened the door to give her the candle. At this moment of meeting her I was not ready to see her naked yet. She turned around to see me standing there. She had no clothes on. I turned around so fast my wing hit the edge of the door. The pain was too much and I fell on my knee. She ran over and I stood up and reached over to give her the candle without looking at her. She almost touched my back.

    Thank you master, she said.

Don’t call me master. My name is Finn Lee, I whispered.

Sorry master, but I cannot call you by your name, she said.

Then you cannot live here, I yelled!

In a rush, I stepped away from her naked body. As fast I could I went back to my room. I will not be called master for no reason. She was very pretty with a very nice body. Still I was still a boy who thinks about girls all the time. Because I was shy I placed my blanket over my head. I was trying to drown out the song that bounced around my head.

It was the same song I heard since I was little. I knew it very well and could hum the whole thing. I had no idea where I heard it but it calms me. The morning came so fast and it seemed too early to wake up. In a panic rush, I changed into my uniform and grabbed my book bag then walked into the kitchen.  I noticed Aiko sitting there with her head down. Maybe I was to mean but I still didn’t say anything to her and walk out of the house. I stopped at the gate for a moment. In the end, my mind told me to say sorry to her.

All I can think of is that I’m out of mind as I walked back opened the door, but she was not sitting there anymore. After a moment, I found myself at her door to her room.

My hand lifted and I knocked at the door and said, I’m sorry Aiko. You can stay.

    Thank you master, she said.

The hair at the back of my neck stood as I jumped because she was behind me. I was not ready for that. As I turned past her I bowed and headed out the door.

She yelled back, Have a great first day.

Still holding my heart, I slipped out of the gate and headed to school. As I watched the classmates walk past me I stopped for a moment when I felt as if someone was following me. When I looked behind me and noticed twelve feet behind me was that same girl. She had her head down listening to music.

I moved off to the side to let her past me. She did not even look at me as she passed by. The school seemed normal to me. It was to light in color for me, but it did have a giant gothic type gate that we pass through. I heard the bell ring and noticed I was alone.

It seems that everyone was fast to travel to school I thought. Since I was little my father insisted I change my shoes before entering the house. I looked at my shoes and the small lockers to place them in. This very moment I did not have any shoes that I could change into. So, I left them on and I then wondered around the campus looking for the teacher’s office. I ran down the stairs because it did not seem that it was upstairs at all. Maybe I was hoping that I could at least see the room from the balcony. When I turned the corner, I knocked over a girl. I hit the ground hard throwing my book bag. My wing hit the edge of the stairs. It hurt so much that I stood fast. I looked over at the girl to notice it was the same girl that I almost touched in the store. She was the one who been following me around.

What is wrong with you, she asked?

I picked up all my stuff and walked off. I did not want to start anything with her. She was so beautiful with her long dark hair that seemed to flow around her shoulders with small curls. She held huge breast with a very small waist. I tried not to look too much as I headed to the office. I had noticed the sign after I stood up. That same girl stood up and walked away and she seemed mad.

I stepped into the office and explain who I was. One of the male teachers showed me around the school then showed me the locker for my shoes. He handed me a pair that I had with my class number on it. I was in 2-1 class. At this moment, I just placed them into the locker. He told me I did not have to change them until tomorrow. He made me follow him to the classroom. He then told me to stand outside the class until I was called in. I could hear him talk to the teacher. The man looked in the hall and waved me to follow him into the class room. He walked past me as soon I was in. He closed the door and left the room.

This is our transfer student. He is from America and his name is Finn Lee, she said.

She wrote my name on the blackboard. The reaction of the class seemed excited, but honestly; I did not care. I noticed an empty desk in the last row of the class. It was perfect because of my wings. It means no one will sit behind me. I walked by many cute girls and sat in my new desk. I placed my book bag down on a hook on the edge of the desk. She said to turn to page three in the English book. The only problem I had was I had no school books. It seems they had run out and I was stuck with nothing.

I raised my hand for a moment.

    Yes Finn, she asked?

Our teacher was very young I would have to say twenty maybe twenty-one. She had short hair and seemed very gentle. Maybe I should say breakable.

    No books, I said.

That is right… well then who is willing to share their books with him, she asked?

I think everyone girl in the class shout they will, but the teacher said a name first.

Miki Yoshida since he is sitting next to you. Share yours, she said.

Because how shy I was I did not even notice the girl who sat next to me was. That is when I realized it was the same girl I have been running into. Was it fate… I sighed at the fact we never hit it off at all. I was not much into talking to anyone. She moved her desk closer to mine until they touched. She moved her book just a little bit, but kept most of it to herself. I did not talk to her at all. I felt so uneasy next to her as if someone was strangling me. She leaned for a moment to say something. Out of reaction, I flinched and moved away.

I started to breathe hard and my heart raced. My hands started to shake and my head swayed. I felt her hand grab mine to hold me up. The bell rang and she let go of my hand. Before I stood up to leave when suddenly I was surround by girls and even a few guys asking me questions about America. I could not take all the people on me at once. With a fast movement, I grabbed my bag and was ready to run when Miki grabbed my arm and pulled me out of the room.

Miki that’s not fair you have him all day, I heard some girls yell out as we ran.

We ran around a corner of the building and she stopped. I was breathing really hard because of her touching me. She pulled her hand away and I started to breathe again.

    You alright, she asked?

    Thank you, I whispered.

I stood up and looked around to see where we are. We were close to those small lockers. She looked around the corner then back at me. I was not even looking at anything, but the ground.

    Wait here, she said.

She walked away for a moment so she could change her shoes. When I noticed the entrance was near us I left without her. As fast as I could I started to walk past the gate. When I was walking past the ocean I stopped on the hill that leads down to the beach. Carefully I jumped the small wall and sat on the grass. From the first time, I was here I loved to watch the waves at this beach. I had no idea how long I sat there for hoping that the sea would crash on the shore and take me away. Miki sat down next to me. I moved away from her as soon I noticed her.

She did not say anything to me, but I felt like she never stopped watching me. I just lost myself in the waves, I laid back to watch the clouds roll on by.

You do not like when people touch you do you, she asked?

I said to her as nicely as I could, No I don’t like it.

She stood up and held her hand out. I gave her a look as I stood back up. We headed back home. I stopped at my gate and she looked around for a moment.

This is your house? Do you live alone, she asked?

Not mine and a maid lives here, I said to her.

She said with a loud voice, YOU LIVE HERE WITH A GIRL!

I grabbed the gate to open it. She touched the edge of the gate. I stopped for a moment.

    Bye, I said.

I turned to head into the yard when I stopped because again my mind told me to say thank you to her.

    Thank you, I said.

She bowed and started to walk away. From the corner of the house I watched her leave until she disappeared. Then I opened the door with the key I had. The house had no one in it. Maybe she had left the house and I was finally alone. I took my clothes off and headed for the Jacuzzi. I took the top of it and stepped in. This was the first time I had been in one. It was really hot and I was not used to this heat. My eyes shut for a while trying to relax from the stress that girl caused. My wings became heavy from the water as I moved my wings one by one. So, I can check them for any ruined feathers. Every day I always ask myself why I had wings that no one can see. It was strange to me that I might not be a human at all.

I was about to get out of the water when the door slid open. Aiko was in a towel as she stepped up to the water. I was frozen… what was she going to do.

Dinner will be ready soon. How is the water, she asked?

Aiko tossed the towel off and slipped in the water. She was naked and in the water. I looked over at my clothes. How was I going to get out of the Jacuzzi without her looking at me? She tried to sit down and slipped. As she came down from her fall she landed on top of me. Suddenly my heart started to race and I had a loss of breath. I felt her move as her breast rubbed on my chest. All I could do was scrabble out of the water and I even tried to jump out using my wings.

They do not work well when they are all wet. When I reached the edge of the water I fell on my face. Then I crawled so fast and grabbed my clothes. Since my body was reacting to her touch I passed almost out. I curled up holding the towel she had dropped around me. I was trying to get my breath back.

Master…I mean Finn are you ok? I’m sorry about falling on you, she said.

She had a nice body even if she was not as big in chest as Miki was. She touched my shoulder.

DON’T TOUCH ME, I yelled at her!

My hands did not stop shacking as I tried to move again. As fast as I could I ran out of the room. With every ounce of strength, I shut the door. When my breath came back I changed into some clothes again. I finally calmed down to the point I could breathe again. I slid the door opened and headed to the kitchen. She was cooking our diner and she finally noticed me standing there. She was fast at changing it seems.

She asked with a smile, How was school?

How come you are not in school? I had to ask her without smiling.

I will be soon; after you are settled in. I think I will be in rolling after spring break, she said.

Again, I’m sorry about the Jacuzzi. Well I didn’t mean to yell at you, I said.

For some reason, I see sadness in your eyes. Therefore, I will ignore anything you do or say to me. I’m your maid and it was wrong for me to do that, she said.

Normally I’m left alone so you say I’m not used to people, I whispered.

While she handed me the food I happened to look up at her and thought maybe I was glad she was here. Then again, I would have just burn all the food. After I ate I walked past her room then stopped to see what it looked like. Her room was filled and it seemed even better than mine did now. First day of school and I had to do homework. Then again, I really did not have to worry about school since I was a straight "A" student.

Always I rush into something and noticed I needed to fix a mistake. As I looked around for my pen I seemed I had misplaced it. I stood up and looked around the desk. Then I noticed my pen was across the floor. As I was about to go walk over to pick it up the pen it shot off the ground and right into my hand. Like anyone would do if that happened to them I jumped since that scared me. Since I had no idea how I did that I ignored it. Strange things happen around me all the time and I found myself tired by the end of the day. Still that question burned in my very heart I wished I know what I was.

Maybe I should tell Aiko about my wings and about my past. If I was going to live with her, at least she could understand me better. I left my room and headed outside to watch the stars. It was a really warm night. So, I did not mind being outside.

Do you mind if I watch too, Aiko asked?

    Sit…please, I said.
