About the Author

On Becoming an Author: Caroline Dancel-Garcia

In college (20 plus years ago), I attended English Literature class. This was my initial introduction to formal reading and writing class. Most of my peers were majoring in English Literature and I was the only one who was finishing up a degree in Psychology. Who would have thought that I would find something about myself during that semester in college? From reading and discussing various work from poets and book writers, I found joy in writing poetry. I wrote my first poem in this class. I submitted the poem to Poetry Guild and eventually approved it to be included in the 1998 A Celebration of Poets, Showcase Edition publication. My heart swelled in pride and joy when I saw my work in the page of this book.
