About this ebook

These poems and images are moods of the heart, evocative of the often circuitous route of life's sacred journey. Each poem reflects the individual path which is, at the same time, universal, allowing readers to meet their own image and their own voice, as if in a dream. Poems speak to us through the language of imagery, more powerfully than words in capturing the disparate nuances of human emotions and experiences. These poems were written at distinct junctures of life, when the intensity of emotion overwhelms mere words, and the only language that can convey the depths and heights of human experience is found in poetry.

    About The Author

Gitanjali is the pen name of Holly Gray Schuck MS LICSW. Gitanjali is also the name of a book of poems by Rabindranath Tagore who was the first non- European to win the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1913. Inspired by his work, and the story of his life, mentioned in the book Autobiography of a Yogi by Paramhansa Yogananda, Holly offers these Songs to the Dawn as a marker for others on their own spiritual journey, and as an offering to Spirit from whence they come.
