I am a career and new directions coach whose passion is supporting people as they create the life they want to live. My own journey has taken me from a childhood in New York City, to an environmental career working for government in Washington DC and New York City, working in the private sector and founding my own business in Los Angeles. Subsequently, I embarked on a second career as a coach and now live in the High Mojave Desert of southern California, where I continue my coaching and am inspired every day by the solitude, beauty and silence of the desert and mountains that surround me.Some highlights of my life so far: marrying Ermanno Vanino, a filmmaker and companion on my journey, managing New York City’s 24-hour Haz Mat Emergency Response Team, that responded to over 600 emergencies a year; participating in a team working outside of the established employment and education system to create an innovative credentialing program to prepare young people for work or further education; and co-founding The High Desert Region Green Jobs Initiative, with a mission of linking economic and workforce development to advance the green economy in our region.My writing includes: 4 books: Chrysalis: Personal Transformation From The Inside Out, Leadership on Trial: Lessons From The Apprentice , Power Stories and Coaching Corner Volume 1.It is my hope that my book, Chrysalis: Personal Transformation From The Inside Out is a catalyst for readers to bring their unique gifts to the world and, in the process, to create for themselves a fulfilling and joyful life.

I. Introduction

The idea for this book came to me as a force of nature. Its time was here.

Kaleidoscope looks at New Energy that has arrived on Earth. The book explores the nature of this New Energy—how each of us can attune to it, what awaits us when we do, how humanity can break through the firewall that now separates us from it, tools and pathways we can use to access it and what our world may look like in the future because of it. Kaleidoscope is a container within which we may understand what is before us as we raise our collective vibrations and align with Earth’s New Energy.

Why the title Kaleidoscope? My book Chrysalis focuses on the transformation of just one butterfly: you. Kaleidoscope focuses on what we can do together. I searched for words describing a group of butterflies and what showed up was kaleidoscope! It is a beautiful image of color and beauty. As we enter into New Energy we form a kaleidoscope of harmony and collaboration. It is perfect!

I offer this book to you in a spirit of harmony and collaboration. You are reading it because you are meant to. I honor your focus on this New Energy and the transition our world is currently experiencing. Good times and much joy await us. Thank you for taking this journey with me!

II. What Is New Energy?

A shift is occurring now, just outside of what our senses can perceive. There is a growing lightness on Earth, an availability of new perspectives, an ebbing of fear and a falling away of hierarchies, labels and walls that divide. Our minds are expanding and our hearts are becoming more awake and tender. We have new access to intuition and a growing urge to collaborate and serve. Limitations are receding, allowing us to do things we couldn’t or were afraid to do in the past. We are realizing that we are not separate from one another in the way we once thought. We are starting to sense the love and unity beneath what was once our reality. It is a quickening.

What is this shift? It is New Energy, and it’s infusing the Earth. Not in the everyday sense of the word, however. In our science classes we are taught that everything is energy because energy is the building block of all matter. Quantum physics says that as you go further and further into the atom, you find that it is not matter at the center of the atom, but energy. Classical physics also tells us that energy can’t be created or destroyed. New Energy is not adding to the physical matter of our world or converting our matter to energy.

But consider: If everything is energy, then we are energy, Earth is energy, and our Cosmos is energy. The New Energy is a shift in how the energy that we are in is vibrating or tuning—a transformation from a heavier, more negative and fearful vibration to a lighter, more positive and hopeful one. New Energy can be thought of as an infusion of lightness of being, or as a state of consciousness more aligned with harmony, connection and love.

Just because New Energy is invisible and intangible doesn’t mean it’s not real or accessible. New Energy is now present on Earth and available for us to use. The growing availability of this powerful resource offers us a higher state of being, as well as beauty and advancement beyond our imaginations. New Energy has the potential to affect us all to the very core of our beings. It is up to each of us to avail ourselves of it or not—the choice is ours.

To fully avail ourselves of New Energy, our perceptions must shift significantly. This can be unsettling. There is uncertainty. Our minds clamor for answers; however, our minds alone cannot find the answers we are looking for. More is required of us.

This transition is far different from those humankind has experienced in the past. It is an energetic transition and is not limited to what happens on Earth. It is an infusion, a merging with the energy of the Cosmos. Vast new possibilities await us.

In this first chapter, we explore together some questions and answers about New Energy to familiarize ourselves with what we are now experiencing and will experience in the future.

What is New Energy doing on Earth?

There is a lot that is not working within the energy we have known until now. A lack of harmony is seen in war, destruction of Earth’s natural resources, poverty, persecution and domination. Love cannot fully thrive in this environment. However, New Energy offers an opportunity for positive change and advancement. Love and harmony thrive within it.

Humanity has experienced periods of matriarchy and patriarchy, each prevailing in their time. The patriarchal aspects of our current society have taken precedence for a long time now. New Energy creates an environment for the masculine and feminine energies, on the Earth and within each of us, to balance. Creating harmony between our masculine and feminine energies involves balancing the receptive with the forceful, the inner with the outer, the logical with the emotional and introspection with action.

At present, there are many unknowns regarding New Energy and why it is here. The unknown has always been an element of our existence. We try to find certainty, but certainty is an illusion. We want control and may have it for a while, but it does not endure. The unknown and the mystery are part of the magic of life. Let’s embrace the unknowns of New Energy.

What is the reason New Energy came to Earth?

We have caused harm to each other and to the planet. New Energy can elevate each of us and help us change direction. It may be a natural evolution of the planet. Or, we may have created it by raising our collective energy vibration to a point where New Energy can enter. Extreme times call for extreme measures. Perhaps New Energy is here because we need it. We have been on a destructive course for quite some time now, going headlong, at high speed, into a brick wall.

The purpose of New Energy could be to serve as a vehicle for an infusion of love on the planet. More love enters and fear recedes. Is our evolution leading to harmony? Is New Energy facilitating it?

We may have to carry on without knowing the full or exact purpose of this change. If that is the case, we can rely on our minds, hearts, intuition and ethereal connections to guide us until we know. Our ethereal connections are our bonds with our higher selves, the Earth and the Cosmos that go beyond the limitations of our physical bodies. Our ethereal connections are strengthened in New Energy.

What characterizes New Energy?

New Energy is lighter. We have lived in a very physical environment and are moving into a more ethereal one. New Energy fosters our connection with each other, the Earth and the Cosmos. Our interdependence is more readily seen. The separateness we have felt in the past diminishes. Our concepts of survival of the fittest, differences that divide us, national boundaries and domination over our natural resources give way to a more complete awareness of our interdependence, creating new, more natural collaborations and connections.

In New Energy we let go of our wounds, addictions, issues, fear and sense of separateness, as they are no longer supported. Our relationships lose a lot of their drama. Our bodies change and become lighter, altering how we eat, take care of our physical selves and balance our lives.

Think of the adjustments our bodies will have to go through to thrive in a more ethereal energy. Beam me up, Scotty! may very well become real. Holograms may become common. Some say that in ancient days on Earth, the energy was lighter and more ethereal and gradually became denser as fear entered our consciousness.

New Energy is delicious. We are in for a treat. We feel good—mind, body and soul—creating harmony in our lives. Much more space is available for love and taking positive actions.

What is the timing of this transition to New Energy?

Frankly, the timing is now. New Energy is here, and we need to evolve out of the fear, hate and violence we have created on Earth.

We do not know if we have a short- or long-term window to collectively access New Energy. There’s no reason to delay our alignment with New Energy. Conditions on the planet create urgency. War and enmity are thriving. Wide disparities among rich and poor are seen in both developed and developing nations. Natural resources are waning and there is a need for the Earth to restore itself to a healthier state.

On a positive note, collaboration on a global scale is more possible than ever before. Information is available to all, and sources of information are proliferating. Geographic boundaries, while still intact and constantly contested, are easier to cross with faster travel and global communication. These conditions allow us to work together easily and to get started now.

How do we know a change to New Energy is actually taking place?

The energy we are exploring is currently invisible to our physical senses, but we know it is here. Increasingly, we hear people around us reference the energy in a room, a person’s negative energy or the like. We know energy exists both on an ethereal level and at the core of life and science. Energy is everywhere.

We are walking a path that is newly formed, surrounded by the unknown. It is a path that initially we each must walk alone. The process requires faith and trust. Many of us have sensed this energetic change and wonder what to do with it. We can start by directing our attention and awareness to the changes we are now experiencing—new things coming into our lives, new insights, aspects of our lives falling away, new directions, new pushes from the Cosmos or new sensitivities and abilities. Clues emerge. New Energy is here and already affecting us. It is up to us to see and accept it.

Is New Energy here for everyone?

Yes. What we each individually choose affects our collective experience of New Energy. Can each of us accept the unknown, let go of fear, open our hearts, embrace change, allow love to grow, come together in community and expand the healthy reach of our minds? That’s what New Energy requires.

Some are not ready to exist within New Energy. They are experiencing fear or negativity or denial. There is a need for pathfinders and collaborators to lend a hand to them. There is also a need for strength and power, as there are many who believe they have a lot to lose by leaving the old energy and they may actively resist.

New Energy is available to everyone. No one is undeserving or less than another. The key is whether we choose to take the journey into New Energy or to resist it. New Energy demands we change before we can become part of it.

What are we to do with New Energy?

Let’s be kind and give ourselves a little space to get accustomed to what is happening. Our eyes cannot see New Energy in the same way that we can see things in the physical world. We need to expand our minds, hearts and consciousnesses in order to embrace it.
