    Anthologies

    Let’s get straight down to business.

    Anthologies.

    Get on board!

    Anthologies (and I’ll use this interchangeably with box sets) are a brilliant way to find new readers, hit bestseller lists and also make money.

    There are no guarantees in life, obviously, but if your anthology is organised and hits all the right ‘trope’ buttons and is packaged the right way, you should do well.

    The ones that do really well are based on popular theme. Regency Christmas romances released for the holidays, or vampire novellas released around Halloween will attract readers for sure. The competition is fierce though, so make sure you have all your metaphorical ducks in a row. And yes, I’m about to show you how to do that.

    It’s on you do to some research about what is selling well in the genres you read, so spend time looking at bestseller lists from the retailer you usually buy your ebooks from. Research what’s already out there. ¹

    Another aspect that works well is an expected ‘heat rating’ for the collection. Readers want to know what they’re in for, especially with romance, so if it’s sweet or simmering or sexy-as-all-get-out, make sure this is in the book’s description. If the collection has a range of raunchiness (I love alliteration) then arrange the story order from sweet to spicy and also let readers know about this as
