As a young girl you couldn't get me away from books. I spent a lot of time writing down the ideas in my mind and turning them into comics and funny stories with my sister.I loved being around books and could have lived in the library if I had been able to. I got lost in my Mother's books from when she was a child, 'King Arthur', 'The Arabian Nights', and Nancy Drew transported me from a lonely child into a queen, an Arabian princess, and a young detective.I love to learn about anything to do with spirituality and alternative healing methods and have been certified in many different modalities. I use my knowledge and experience with them as part of my storytelling.Channeling fiction is something relatively new and interesting to me. But the most fun part is being surprised by all the amazing stories and people who grace the pages of my books. I truly have learned so much from them and in the process have been led on a transformative journey right along with all of my readers.I'm so excited to be able to share stories of healing, love, and inspiration with you.

Reiki and Rock (Soulmates Series #1) - Tami Lyn Chambers

    1 Jade, Jenny, and rob

I t was a warm day in Malibu, and Jade was feeling good hanging out by the pool of her huge estate overlooking the ocean. Her band Kestrel was on hiatus, and she was getting some much-needed rest after touring the better part of the last two years and then spending most of this year recording in the studio.

Jade's best friend Jenny joined her by the pool, and they reminisced about their college days together. Jenny had a rented apartment and studio at the back of the estate. Jenny and Jade had met at UC Berkeley college and became instant friends. Jade was in school under the guise of pursuing an arts degree, and Jenny was there on student loans for her psychology degree. She wanted to work with people who were traumatized and needed healing. Jade never finished. She was picked up by a major recording label when an agent saw her singing outside a famous LA restaurant one night during spring break and after Jade had way too much to drink. From there it was no looking back, and Jade's career was off. She dropped out of school at her wealthy parents' dismay and became an overnight sensation. After stints in several now-defunct bands, she's the lead singer for Kestrel, her rock band of musical magicians.

Jade soon realized that her parent's way of caring for her was to buy her attention and affection with extravagant gifts and trips to foreign lands. If that didn't work, then they sent her older brother Sky to interfere in her life. Jade liked to live life her way and if that meant skinny dipping in the Mediterranean or throwing a massive dance party for her friends at the Hollywood Bowl then so be it. She wasn't shy as her bodyguard, and ex-lover Alejandro could attest to. He was continually working to shield the star from paparazzi cameras and the roving eyes of the male fans she always attracted. Jade's idea of true love was distorted after she had fallen for someone who could never love her back the way she wanted. And so she had distracted herself with men like Alejandro and others who could never really commit to anything other than their adoration for her body and talents on stage and in the bedroom.

Jenny completed school and received her degree but soon realized she wasn't cut out for working in hospitals and clinics. She needed to be outdoors a lot of the time as indoor places made her feel so depressed. Jenny is a healer with a capital H, or so her psychic friend Chandra Rose keeps telling her. Jenny has known Chandra since she met her at the SoulStep Cafe where Chandra works as the resident psychic. Chandra had reached across her glass of kombucha, tapped Jenny on the shoulder and said, My guides are telling me I must talk to you.

With Chandra's guidance, Jenny took classes on how to use crystals and do Reiki for energy healing. She has built a successful crystal healing and Reiki practice working with clients of PTSD and alcoholism in her small studio beneath her apartment at the back of Jade's. Jade thought it was a little woo-woo at first, but that didn't stop Jenny. And Jade didn't care what happened so much since she was rarely there and trusted Jenny more than anyone she knew.

Jenny loves her practice and her small group of eclectic friends. However, she often feels like her life is missing something, but she's not sure what. She'd had a few romantic relationships, but all had ended sadly, and she doesn't think she will ever find her soulmate . Chandra tells her that she believes Jenny deserves to find the love of all lifetimes if she would only open her heart. Jenny is still not sure what that means.

Jenny was raised by her grandparents and had spent her summers as a girl working with animals at the local shelter. They lived on the Oregon coast in a tiny town population of one hundred forty-three, and Jenny had felt isolated and alone, somehow separate from her schoolmates. She didn't have a lot of friends growing up, but she liked it that way. She preferred a few close friends and had found solace and comfort diving into books at the school library.

Chandra told her that a lot of her relationships and situations in this life were karmic connections and contracts that needed to be healed from past lifetimes. Jenny didn't know anything about past lifetimes and was reluctant to explore the topic further.

It was an even hotter day in downtown L.A., and Rob was feeling the effects of a hangover. His rock band, The Raw Deal was playing all the famous club scenes and their agent Murray had gotten them an East Coast tour for the Fall. Things were looking good. The club was packed last night, and he had sung better than ever he thought. It didn't hurt that those hot girls kept staring at him from below the stage. He was tempted to get his assistant Conrad to hook them all up but decided against it. Maybe he was over the one night stands he thought but realized he knew better than that.

Rob had had his share of women, but all those relationships were superficial. He didn't believe in love as he'd never really experienced it before. Rob thought he might even settle down one day and get married, have a family, and leave the music scene for something more peaceful. But as soon as he got near the stage those ideas were brushed aside. He wasn't seeing anyone at the moment as most girls got too jealous when they saw him up on stage or with so many girls following him around. He couldn't go anywhere around town without some young girl running up to him for a selfie. He felt like he needed a vacation. But with several tours coming up, the band was hot on the scene, and he needed the money.

Rob was born in London to addicted parents who abandoned him when he was eight. He grew up in foster homes and boys schools there and dropped out at thirteen to live his dream of becoming a famous singer in a rock band. He had answered a call to audition for a local band, and they had hired him on the spot. From there he quickly made a name in the rock music business and moved to California at the urging of the band who wanted to check out the scene there. He got heavily into drugs and alcohol since it was everywhere he went. His motto was Drink to not think, and he took it seriously. Until one night when he fell off the stage and broke his hand. He decided to quit everything cold turkey and had been successful on and off. He said he was clean and sober now, but still felt the pull of drugs and alcohol and often gave in to the urge falling off the wagon more times than he could recall.

    2 shopping spree

M oving inside from the heat that is so unusual this time of year at the beach, Jade makes a round of green smoothies for her and Jenny, and they chat about all that's been going on since Jade was away.

I'm so busy with clients, says Jenny. I haven't had much time off. My client list has grown, and I'm always booked.

Well, that's a good thing. Right? says Jade slurping her smoothie through a bamboo straw.

Of course it's great, Jenny says smiling. I just wish I was sharing my off time with someone special you know. We can't all be as lucky as you, she says winking at Jade.

I guess I'll settle down one day, Jade says. But for now I'm having fun and lots of it, Jade says. Say that reminds me. There's a huge party tonight up in the hills. The singer from Raw Deal, Rob Strom is throwing it. It's supposed to be rocking. Wanna go?

I'm not really into a party like that Jade. I'm sure there's going to be lots of drinking and drugging going on. Thanks, but I'll pass, Jenny says touching the rose quartz pendant that's hanging close to her heart.

Suit yourself. But I bet you'd find someone there to take your mind off things, Jade says as she imagines all the hot guys that will be there. Speaking of hot guys, I think I'm going to go shopping for a new outfit for the party. Come with me. I'll have Alejandro drive us to Beverly Hills. It'll be fun, Jade says excitedly.

Jenny likes riding the coast highway up to L.A., and with a driver, it will be even more fun. She can just sit back and relax and meditate on the scenery.

Alejandro is Jade's ex-lover turned full-time bodyguard and limo driver, and she takes him with her even when the band's on the road. He's a tall, muscular blonde haired hunk and can handle anyone who might want to muscle in on Jade. Jade and Alejandro tried a physical relationship for awhile but realized they worked better together as friends and coworkers.

No hard feelings, Jade had said to Alejandro the last time they slept together at the Beach Bridge motel, but I think we're done. But stay with me. Work for me, she had said softly as she nuzzled his chest.

Alejandro not wanting to lose Jade's company and realizing he liked handsome male Latino lovers better had decided to stay on and work for her. It was one of the best decisions he had ever made as Jade pretty much paid him whatever he asked for. He wasn't greedy, but he made a very comfortable living. Comfortable enough to take time off several times a year and go down to Costa Rica to meet Joaquin and the gang.

Jade texted Alejandro, and he agreed to pick them up in an hour.

You've got one hour to get ready and then we're off, Jade said knowing that Jenny took forever to get ready to go anywhere.

What Jade didn't know was that Jenny liked to take her time before she went into the outside world. Jenny could have easily been a hermit if it wasn't for Jade. She didn't like the dense energy of the big cities and preferred going to the beach, doing yoga, and sitting in meditation to fighting L.A. traffic and crowds any day.

Jenny went to her studio and put on a sacred chant track she used when doing the tea ceremony at the beginning of her client sessions. It made her feel grounded and connected to the earth, and she would need that running around Beverly Hills all day.

Alejandro arrived right on time as Jenny emerged from her studio. She dressed casually in a cool organic cotton sundress and sparkly flat sandals. Her long blonde hair streaked with chunky lavender highlights was tied softly behind her neck with a gold ribbon. People often told her she looked like a fairy princess but behind the soft and gentle exterior also lay a woman of great personal strength.

Jenny waved hello to Alejandro and placed her bag on the back seat of the black stretch limo. Jade could have easily traveled in a more discreet and economical vehicle, but her motto was there's always a party ready to start. So, she had chosen the big limo just in case she wanted to invite her friends for impromptu trips up the coast or into the wine country.

Jade emerged from the main house looking stunning as always. She must be in her incognito mood today Jenny thought as she observed Jade's floppy black leather hat and dark Prada sunglasses. She made up for the huge hat by wearing what Jenny thought was possibly the shortest hot pink shorts she had ever seen paired with a blue leather halter top and platform sandals. Her long red hair was captured by a diamond and leather hair clip at the nape of her neck. They hopped into the limo eager for the trip and then Alejandro peeled out of the steep driveway and onto the Pacific Coast Highway.

He drove stealthily through the Pacific Coast highway traffic and as they neared Santa Monica, he turned the monstrous vehicle East towards Beverly Hills. Jade had her maid prepare a picnic lunch, and they ate vegetable sandwiches and drank hot tea from a vintage tea service that Jade's mother had given her for her last birthday. Jenny admired Jade's ability to throw a decadent party anywhere she was, and this was no exception.

Within several hours, they arrived at Rodeo Drive, and Alejandro eased the stretch limo into the waiting limo area. He opened the door as if they were royalty emerging from the royal motorcade.

Jade and Jenny emerged like princesses and went straight towards their favorite shops. However, it was not to be so easy-going, and the big floppy hat and dark glasses didn't fool the paparazzi that were soon following them as they ducked into every shop.

Jade, you love this, don't you? I wouldn't be surprised if you had tipped them off yourself before we even got here, Jenny said laughing.

Don't be silly, Jade said slyly.

But Jenny knew better. She didn't mind this sort of thing every once in a while, but she wondered how Jade put up with it all the time everywhere she went.

If they get too out of hand, we'll just ask Alejandro to help out, Jade said. Just watch them run when they see him coming.

Jenny giggled as she imagined Alejandro muscling up the sidewalk yelling obscenities in Spanish as he motioned for the photographers to get away or else.

After several hours of shopping, the limo's trunk was filled with bags.

Jenny what did you buy? Jade asked. I don't see anything in here except what I bought. Where's yours?

Jenny showed her a small bag hanging from her wrist.

What is that ? Jade said dejectedly. You gotta live a little.

Jenny was more than happy with the silk scarf she had purchased at French Kiss, a little vintage shop. It was light pink with gold sparrows in flight all over it. She would wear it if she ever had another date she thought. It had been much too long since she'd had a night out.

Oh my goodness look at the time, Jade said. I still need to get ready for the party. I'm not going to have time to go home and then come all the way back to Rob's house. Alejandro be a doll and book me a room at the Wilshire. I'll just have to get ready there. It will be better anyway. That way if I meet someone special we won't disturb you at the house, Jenny.

Yes mum, Alejandro said mimicking a British servant. He loved to mess with Jade especially when she was acting saucily.

"Jenny, won't you change your mind and go to the
