About this ebook

In this second book of the Thunder Rose Collection Moxie, Diego, Pamela, Amber, and Edgar are back to solve new and mysterious goings on at the ranch.

The Black Stallion has shown up again and it’s not what everyone thinks. Atwood or El Diablo as he used to be called was infamously known for his string of bad luck upon whoever owned him. With no one willing to care for the aging stallion he spent his final days at Thunder Rose under Pamela’s care. During his stay, the ranch had one bad incident after another until the day that El Diablo transitioned.

Now ten years later, sightings of El Diablo by the horses and hands at the ranch lead Moxie and the rest of the group on a dangerous passage into the heart of the beast.

As a young girl you couldn't get me away from books. I spent a lot of time writing down the ideas in my mind and turning them into comics and funny stories with my sister.I loved being around books and could have lived in the library if I had been able to. I got lost in my Mother's books from when she was a child, 'King Arthur', 'The Arabian Nights', and Nancy Drew transported me from a lonely child into a queen, an Arabian princess, and a young detective.I love to learn about anything to do with spirituality and alternative healing methods and have been certified in many different modalities. I use my knowledge and experience with them as part of my storytelling.Channeling fiction is something relatively new and interesting to me. But the most fun part is being surprised by all the amazing stories and people who grace the pages of my books. I truly have learned so much from them and in the process have been led on a transformative journey right along with all of my readers.I'm so excited to be able to share stories of healing, love, and inspiration with you.

The Stallion Returns (Thunder Rose Collection #2) - Tami Lyn Chambers

    1 THE MORNING AFTER

Well it can be said that a good night’s sleep changes everything for the better but when the sun rolled around the next morning after the great adventure in the woods, not everyone or everything felt quite right again.

For one thing, Moxie and Diego had retired to separate sleeping quarters much to Diego’s dismay.

I really thought we had hit things off he thought to himself, rolling out of the sleeping bag that he had pulled out onto the floor in front of the fireplace the night before. He had hoped that after everyone went to their rooms Moxie would join him in front of the fire. But instead she had fallen asleep on the couch and then Edgar had carried her up to Amber’s room to lay down.

Amber still feeling a little sensitive about all the spooky happenings the past few weeks, had decided to sleep with Pamela in her big California king. This in turn dashed Edgar’s hopes of having his woman all to himself for the very first night ever. And for Pamela this meant a night of senseless tossing and turning wondering if she should join him out in the stables but not wanting to wake poor Amber who was sleeping so dreamily beside her just like she did as a young child.

But all was not as it seemed and yet again the humans and animals at Thunder Rose would be thrust into a mystery so chilling that it would take every sacred bone in their body to recover from the events about to occur. Thunder Rose had been saved from the Screech no doubt but an even tougher and darker adversary was at work and it would be up to Amber, Pamela, Diego, Moxie, and the crew to use their wit and cunning to outplay this dark force.

Just as Amber was waking up from her beauty sleep there was a knock at the door to the bedroom. At the second knock Amber sleepily roused herself up enough to tell the knocker to come in. In walked Edgar of all people carrying a breakfast tray with all manner of vegan breakfast treats created by Marguerite earlier that morning. Nothing made that woman happier than feeding her crowd. The tray had warm scones and hot black coffee with almond milk just like Amber liked it. But the deliverer of the goodies surprised her somewhat and she sat up in the plush warm bed and shook the sleep from herself.

Hi Edgar, good morning, was all she could muster so early. She picked up a scone off the tray he had set down before her and poured herself coffee from the antique porcelain tea pot that Marguerite used for special occasions.

Amber, Edgar said sitting across from her in the lushly decorated room using a wing back chair to prop himself on the arm much to Pamela’s dismay. She hated when someone sat on the arm of a chair. For whatever reason it reminded her of her father and his stern rules about the house. After her mother had died he had wanted to preserve every last detail that reminded him of her. Her dad was a sensitive soul but there were boundaries in place around anything having to do with Pamela’s mother Elaine Hampton. And one of them was sitting on chair arms. A thing Amber and Pamela still truly didn’t understand to this day.

Pamela came in from the ornate gilded fairy tale bathroom wearing her best robe and fluffy slippers. A thing she reserved for hanging out with her daughter watching movies. But it had been awhile since they had hung out together like this and Pamela was taking advantage of the repair in their relationship the past few weeks to treat her daughter to all manner of fun and inviting activities that involved being a girl and a woman living alone together on a big horse farm.

Edgar darling, Pamela came over to Edgar and planted a kiss on top of his head making him feel like a small child whose mother was doting on him. But he knew Pamela meant well and was considering Amber’s feelings too. She still wasn’t completely sure how Amber felt about her and Edgar and she had vowed to take it all slowly just in case there was any animosity to the muscular Native American man with the tattooed chest sitting so regally in her bedroom.

Amber was still chewing her crunchy scone and sipping coffee and really was deep down excited to see her Mother happy for once. She knew that Pamela and Edgar felt something for each other if she only knew the true depth of it she would have wept for the love that was between the older couple. Amber’s mind however was on a tryst of her own. She hadn’t see Luke since the incident the night before and she was wondering if he still wanted to get closer to her. She vowed to get dressed and go find out but not before polishing off another scone and a second cup of coffee.

Both Amber and Pamela knew that the ranch would feel so much more manly with, well an actual man of the house around. But both of them weren’t ready to rush into anything just yet. There was still some decompressing of information and emotions from the night before and everyone was wondering how Moxie was doing after her role in taming the Screech.  The latter having vanished into the ether of Divinity and love drenched goodness at Moxie’s touch. It wouldn’t be showing itself any time soon. And if so it wouldn’t be disguised as anything other than an entity that needed more love and attention.

    But more on that later.

How does one recover and get back to normal after such an event?

Pamela and Edgar decided to leave the room and allow Amber her privacy to get dressed. They removed themselves to a guest bedroom on the second floor near the attic stairs. They didn’t want to do anything but be together now and privacy with so many late night house guests was at a premium.

How are you doing darlin? Edgar asked her as they shut the bedroom door behind them.

Me, I’m fine, Pamela said leaning into him and smelling the sweet fragrance of musk and burnt sage combined with some sort of pinion pine cologne he made himself. It’s you I’m concerned with, she said nuzzling her cheek into his long dark hair which was down around his shoulders rather than being pulled back like usual. I’m thinking this whole thing has been too much for you. And I’m afraid you may want to leave here again, she said softly. Well at least she had said it she thought to herself. She didn’t want him to leave ever again but she knew he had other priorities outside of Thunder Rose and this concerned her.

I am not going anywhere if that’s what you’re thinking, Edgar said nuzzling her back but not sure what move to make next. He wanted to take her into his arms and lay her down on the soft guest bed but he also knew that at any moment someone might be looking for her to come down to the stables or sign some errant document or
