Messing with the Wedding
MELANIE gave a small twirl, peering critically at how her wedding gown flowed around her petite silhouette when her mother barged into the room already talking a mile a minute.
“Well, this is it. Your big day. How are you feeling?”
“Stressed.” Melanie sighed. “And relieved that it’s finally happening.”
“Well, your cousin has arrived with THAT woman again. I really hope he comes to his senses soon. Oh! And Derek’s brother has arrived. I don’t know where they’ve been hiding him, but he arrived on one of those monster motorcycles.” The last was said with an exaggerated shudder.
“Well Mom, you know I’ve never met him, but from what we’ve heard he’s quite the humanitarian.”
“Yes, we’ve all heard about his trip through Africa – every single time you and Derek come over. I just don’t know how his parents can allow him to ride one of those things,” her mom
