About this ebook

The duty of any educator is to enable and empower students to free their minds to such an extent they begin to take responsibility for their own learning. To think for themselves and question what they hold to be true. To do this requires an understanding of accepted academic principles and teaching practices, coupled with the ability and experience to deliver sometimes complex esoteric subjects in a way that makes them easy to understand. These subjects covered in this EBook can by their very nature be very difficult to comprehend, hard to accept and even harder to substantiate. A community of enquiry works on the premise that there are no definitive right or wrong answers just differing points of view and is an excellent teaching model. It can help stimulate discussions on subjects such as psychic ability, spirit and spirituality, the aura, reincarnation and life after death and their relevance of such subject matter to their own spiritual and personal development.
If we are serious about our desire to gain knowledge and understanding then we must be willing to go beyond the limitations set by our physical senses and challenge what we believe to be real. The scientist and spiritual teacher speak of the same realities and only their language is at odds. The physical world can’t be considered in isolation and we must be willing and able to discuss the physical and spiritual framework wherein life death, healing and dis-ease coexist, and their implications and the questions raised in the minds of the student of seeks enlightenment. We must be willing to examine all avenues of thought until we reach a place of objectivity from which our journey to seek out knowledge and understanding can begin

Chapter 1 - Energy By Another Name Is Still Energy

What is the energy of the universe called in India?

The natural energy of the universe is called Prana in India. Prana is the Sanskrit word for ‘life force’; in yoga, Oriental medicine, and martial arts, the term refers to a cosmic energy believed to come from the sun and connecting the elements of the universe. The universal principle of energy or force, responsible for the body's life, heat and maintenance, prana is the sum total of all energy that is manifest in the universe. This life energy has been vividly invoked and described in Vedas. In Ayurveda, tantra and Tibetan medicine praṇa is the basic wind or air from which all the others arise.

Prana is the connecting link between the material world, consciousness and mind. It is what makes life on the material level possible, it regulates all physical functions for example, the breath, the supply of oxygen, digestion, elimination and much more. The function of the human body is much like a transformer, receiving energy from the Universal flow of Prana, distributing that energy, and then eliminating it.

    Where is the Chakra alignment?

The chakras are aligned along the spinal column. Energetically, the spine is the home of five of the seven main Chakras in the body. There are three main energy channels, nadis, in the body.

Ida nadi represents the mind and yin characteristics pingala nadi symbolizes the body and yang energy and when Ida and pingala are balanced in shushumna, the corresponding Chakra is also balanced.

What colour is the crown chakra associated with?

The colour associated with the crown chakra is purple or violet. Purple was the color worn by Roman Emperors, magistrates, and later by Roman Catholic bishops, and since that time the colour purple has been commonly associated with royalty and piety. Purple is the colour of good judgment. It is the colour of people seeking spiritual fulfilment. It is said if you surround yourself with purple you will have peace of mind and is an excellent colour to use in meditation. Violet is the colour of purpose and helps link the individual and the universe. The purple red of violet energy brings practicality to the undirected expansiveness of the blue, and allows more creative energy to emerge, for this reason, violet is associated with imagination and inspiration.

Which chakra is chamomile associated with?
