About this ebook

"Death of a fit dog" is an independent short story centered in the main character of the series of comic-strips titled "Scenes of a fit dog" by Guspirallampec. It was inspired by a real life experience occurred to the author on the 26th of July of 2016 when he went hiking completely unprepared, got lost several times trying to reach a lake called Estany de l'Illa in Encamp (Andorra) and, eventually, overwhelmed by fatigue, sunburn, thirst, disorientation, storm thunders in the distance and abundant insect bites, decided to dial the emergency number and ask for help, just to be rescued by helicopter. The guy survived, his ego was killed out of utter embarrassment. Being fit doesn't mean being ready, but the Fit Dog is, isn't he?

    Introduction

Guspirallampec decided engaging in a comic-strip called Scenes of a fit dog looking for the widest audience. Its success had to rely on three winning premises. First, a common vehicular language known and used by plenty of potential readers, English, making it international. Second, the subject of the stories would be sports. Because such approach could help capturing massive attention from people, either voyeurs or exhibitionists, interested in body worship, fitness and the healthy way of life; which seems to be key concerns in society in current times. And, third, the main role was given to a small English Bulldog hoping that the character would please persons who love pets and cute animals.

It was planned as a creative collaboration involving two fellows with the simple goal of producing a couple of chapters each week in average and it had to last, at least, for one year. However, due to alleged incompatibilities with other projects or, who knows, a complete lack of faith, the script-writer quitted the task. As a consequence, the authoring team was broken and the title abandoned after a little while.
