About this ebook
It’s been seven years since wealthy entrepreneur Don Simmons totally changed his life around, literally becoming a new man by shedding thirteen stone, half his body weight, quit chain smoking, binge drinking and food obsession, moved to Spain, and trained and competed in the High Wycombe half marathon, all for a quarter of a million pound bet.
A transformation that not only prolonged his life, but erupted into a love affair, a romance with the interior and people of Catalonia, and the wonders of the Costa Brava.
Now in the spring of 2007, on a business trip back to his headquarters in England Don completes on a land deal that propels him into Billionaire status.
After celebrating his success he is saddened to hear that his beloved local football team Well Green are about to be wound up and that the land is to be sold to a developer and turned into a housing complex.
Angered twice over to hear that the developer is an old enemy, Don launches himself into a mission to not only save the tiny ninth tier club from extinction, but to for fill a life long dream of becoming the club’s manager and, bolstered by a massive cash injection, propel them through the ranks of the Football Association challenge Cup.
This is a joyous and heart warming tale, full of good humour, trials, tears and triumphs, set in picturesque splendour of two contrasting landscapes, brimming with colour, dazzling description and fascinating characters. The story will make you proud to have been able to eves drop on a chapter in the life of the Don Simmons saga and leave you keen to explore the next two riveting sequels.

I was tempted into book writing back in 2002, I am Dyslexic and originally asked my co-author Anthony Randall to first decipher my scrawl, and then to correct the spelling in order to turn the story in my head into a book. Anthony, an avid book reader realized instantly the lack of content in my writing and proposed that we write together, my stories, Anthony’s words. We believes that the synergy works well, the analogy that we have given it is of me giving him a pencil sketch and him turning it into an oil painting. We have published two novels to date on Amazon in the English Sombrero series, ‘Nothing to do but run’ and ‘The Little White Ball’. Both are available in e-book and paperback format, book three ‘Choice’ is under construction, as is a new title, a thriller called ‘The Tip of the Teaspoon’. I have a book in my own right in circulation 'What goes around, comes around' and Anthony is working on a novel called 'Tales of Tucson'.
