Author

Jo Michaels

Jo Michaels loves writing novels that make readers gasp in horror, surprise, and disbelief. While her browser search history has probably landed her on a list somewhere, she still dives into every plot with gusto, hoping "the man" will realize she's a writer and not a psychopath about to go on a rampage. Her favorite pastimes are reading, watching Investigation Discovery, and helping other authors realize their true potential through mentoring. She's penned the award-winning Pen Pals and Serial Killers series and the best-selling educational book for children, Writing Prompts for Kids, which has rocketed the kids that use it into several awards of their own. Most of Jo's books feature the places she's lived: Louisiana, Tennessee, and Georgia. That's given her a special amount of insight to what makes those locations tick. Her works are immersive and twisty, and she wouldn't want it any other way.

Introduction – Read me FIRST – Very Important!

Hi, everyone! I’m Jo Michaels, The Baking Author, as seen on YouTube. I’m a writer and a home cook just doing the things I love and sharing them with the world.

I’m not going to bore you with a long introduction, but I’d like to explain how this book works and why it exists.

I’m an overly-organized person. It drives me crazy when I can’t find exactly what I’m looking for when I want it. Neat rows make my heart do a happy dance and my inner-goddess do a twirl.

YouTube channels can be a bit messy. Things are everywhere. Of course you can organize all your videos into lists, but then a person has to actually click on the video to see things like ingredients and comments. But the content is fresh and keeps on coming. There’s always something new to enjoy.

Cookbooks are great, but they’re also a bit hard to follow sometimes. You can open to the recipe, see all the ingredients, and view instructions, but seeing is sometimes better than reading, and you get exactly the number of pages you buy. There are no updates. Once you’ve blazed through the book, you’re done. You can also never ask the cook on the other end questions.

Then it hit me: Why not have one book that organizes recipes in an easy-to-navigate way, gives the owners updates, lets them ask questions, shows them exactly what they need, and shows them how to put it together?

    This cookbook was born.

Here’s how you use this book:

Select the recipe you’d like to try, grab the ingredients listed below it, get ready to cook, and then click the link that follows the recipe to make it alongside me.

Updates will automatically push every couple of months, and you’ll have new tastes to explore. If you see a release date next to a video title, wait until then to click. Everything is set to go live at 8am EST on the day listed.

    Easy peasy.

If you’re digging in to one of my recipes, t means teaspoon and T means tablespoon. AP flour is all-purpose, and C means cup.

So dive on in and take a look around. Keep in mind this isn’t full yet, but there’s always stuff coming, and I’m doing my best to flesh out the offerings.

Yes, you’ll see some things listed more than once, but that’s because they fit into multiple categories.

Come cook with me, and let’s have some FUN!
