Foreword

Throughout the ages, the Psalms have been the worship book of both church and synagogue. The prayers and songs recorded there teach us much about the character of God and how to approach Him. From them, we also experience solace in time of trouble and are inspired to praise our Creator.

Few Psalms, however, are as beloved as Psalm 91. Through it, we are reminded of the amazing truth that when we make the Almighty our dwelling place, whatever trials may come, we are protected, and we do not face them alone. We can also rest assured that God’s purposes will always be fulfilled even in (or despite) the snares and strategies of the evil one. The cultural and Hebrew insights deftly woven throughout this meditation add new depth of understanding; and the prayers of the saints throughout the ages remind us of that great cloud of witnesses who have run the race before. From them, the reader may glean wisdom.

These days, as the world is facing a health and economic crisis, the encouragement found in this devotional is timely, as is the challenge toward increased trust and intimacy with our Heavenly Father. Through the discipline of prayer and the meditation on the truths in this Psalm highlighted so beautifully by Dr. Johnson, one may indeed find an anchor for the soul.

Behold, His Yeshua! was written during the beginning of the pandemic of 2019–20. This pandemic and its disease brought about great fear and despair.

Over a period of several weeks, this nine-part series was emailed to Israel Today Ministries’ constituency and put on social media. The response was awe-inspiring.

Requests came for a booklet to become available. Here it is. No claim is made for originality, but the writer is deeply grateful for the help he received from many sources, including those in the bibliography found in the back of this booklet.
