    Pinto stopped his horse and looked over the valley that lay before him.  The soft rising swells were almost majestic beside the silvery blue creek that meandered through the heart of it.  Tall, strong trees were everywhere and a few birds cried out here and there.  It was perfect.  After the weeks and weeks that Pinto had spent riding, looking for just the right spot, this was it.  He rode his horse down the gentle slope and waded through the edge of the creek that seemed to bubble over its banks with happiness. 

    A trout jumped out of the water for a moment and the sun sparkled on the fish like it was covered in jewels.  Pinto laughed out loud, and then tethered his horse to a tree.  He began pulling out his supplies, and in no time, he had a small fire surrounded by stones.  His bed roll was spread out a few feet away, and his horse-Adobe- was quietly cropping at the clover around him.  A pot of coffee was percolating over the fire, beside it a trout cooked- quite possibly the one that had leapt out of the cheerful creek.

    Pinto spent the night beside that creek, and by morning had made up his mind.  He awoke early and walked the edges of the valley as the sun rose.  He splashed through the creek in three or four places and also rode through trees that made a small forest on the west edge.

    He cleaned up in the creek then mounted Adobe and headed in to the closest town.  He had been riding for several months, and the valley clicked in his mind, and in his heart.  He knew it, he was finally home.  His trip into town was so that he
