CHAPTER 1
PRECONCEPTION
––––––––
Preconception care is an opportunity for you and your partner to improve your health before you begin trying-to-conceive (TTC). The chances of conceiving are increased if you and your partner are both in good health, adhering to a healthy lifestyle, consume a varied and balanced diet, maintaining a healthy BMI and have favourable working conditions.
Should you have any concerns relating to your health and/or lifestyle or underlying medical or hereditary concerns, a healthcare professional can help you to assess your health; fitness and lifestyle, to identify areas that you may want to improve upon. Consulting a healthcare professional may be useful if you want to find out how conditions such as diabetes or epilepsy can affect your pregnancy, if you are experiencing a delay in conceiving and if there is a possibility you or your partner could pass on a genetic condition such as Sickle cell anaemia or Thalassemia.
The Bible states: "Thou shall be blessed above all people; there shall not be male or female barren among you ..." Deuteronomy 7:14.
Speak to your body to respond to the will of The Almighty.
