When I manage to tear myself away from taking Buzzfeed quizzes and watching unhealthy amounts of TV, I write romance and smut. My works feature alpha males, sexy times, and/or my sarcastic sense of humor. I hail from Cleveland, aka the best freaking city in the world, and believe LeBron James is the perfect human being. Despite all of my efforts, I have never truly been able to quit caffeine. My problematic favorites include Taylor Swift and Gone with the Wind. I love to hate/hate to love k-dramas. If I say I’m on a diet, I’m just lying to you and myself. One of these days, I'm going to get hypertension from an excess of salt, both literal and figurative. If I'm awkward around you, I probably don't know what to say to you and/or I think you're hot. And despite what anyone says, Forrest Gump so deserved that Oscar over Pulp Fiction.

Quick & Dirty - Isla Chiu

    Claiming His Runaway Bride

Alex Zhang's little sister Susie nervously cleared her throat, running her shaking fingers through her short black bob. Um, don't freak out, she said.

Of course her words had the opposite effect on him. You didn't tell a man on his wedding day to not freak out. If you didn’t want the groom to freak out, you would simply say nothing and do everything in your power to not fuck anything up. What is it, Susie? he asked, feeling his blood pressure spike.

Um, we can’t find Kira, she said, avoiding his eyes.

You can’t find Kira? He blinked. Kira, the woman he’d wanted ever since he’d met her six months ago, the love of his life, and... Kira, the woman I’m supposed to be marrying in two hours?

I told you, don’t freak out—

He hissed, "How am I supposed to not freak the fuck out? I thought you were going to tell me the band couldn’t make it or the cake fell all over the floor, and that would’ve been bad enough, but you’re telling me my bride is missing. How can she be missing anyway? Didn’t you pick her up this morning?"

    Yes, but um...

"You fucking lost her?" He was almost shrieking, his normally deep voice now at a pitch that was comparable to that of a chipmunk on cocaine.

I had to deal with something about the cake. Then when I went back to check on her, well...

Alex rubbed his eyes. Jesus fucking Christ, I can’t believe this is happening. Had Kira gotten cold feet and run away, thinking that their marriage was doomed to fail? But she’d seemed fine last night. A little nervous about the wedding, but that was normal. God knew how anxious he’d been and how much time he’d spent obsessing about every tiny detail that could go wrong—though he’d evidently neglected to worry about one extremely important thing. You made sure she’s not here? They were having the wedding in a grand mansion that had belonged to one of Kira’s favorite writers, some morbid aristocrat with a penchant for writing creepy poems that were extended metaphors for vaginas and stories that read like the drug-induced hallucinations of a kinky serial killer. Kira could have simply wandered into one of the many rooms.

Yes, Susie said. I tried calling her ten times too. Nothing.

Okay, I’m gonna go back to my place and see if she’s there.

But it’s bad luck for the groom to see the bride before the wedding!
