Um, Raven, I don't mean to sound judgmental, but isn't that, like, your fourth gin and tonic? my friend asks.

I tap my empty glass. Aren't you going to give me a refill?

I'm perfectly fine! I exclaim. Come on, give me another gin and tonic.

Tell you what, I can make you a gin and tonic minus the gin, Sam says.

Oh, screw you, I say.

Screw you too, he says lightly. To Aimee: Make sure nothing bad happens to your friend, okay?

Before I can insist on another gin and tonic with the gin, Sam walks away to serve other customers.
