About this ebook

Theoretically, my wedding day should be the happiest hours of my life.

But it's not, thanks to a certain someone I can't get over—that someone being the incredibly sexy Hikaru Watanabe, who also happens to be the ruthless leader of a powerful yakuza gang.

And it turns out that Hikaru wants me back and he will stop at nothing to reclaim me.

Even if that means kidnapping me on my wedding day.

***A sexy second-chance story with an obsessed alpha male, lots of smut, and a HEA!***

When I manage to tear myself away from taking Buzzfeed quizzes and watching unhealthy amounts of TV, I write romance and smut. My works feature alpha males, sexy times, and/or my sarcastic sense of humor. I hail from Cleveland, aka the best freaking city in the world, and believe LeBron James is the perfect human being. Despite all of my efforts, I have never truly been able to quit caffeine. My favorites include Taylor Swift, Florence + the Machine, and SHINee. I love to hate/hate to love k-dramas. If I say I’m on a diet, I’m just lying to you and myself. One of these days, I'm going to get hypertension from an excess of salt, both literal and figurative. If I'm awkward around you, I probably don't know what to say to you and/or I think you're hot. And despite what anyone says, Forrest Gump so deserved that Oscar over Pulp Fiction.

Kidnapping the Bride - Isla Chiu

I stand in front of the mirror and try to force a smile, but the best I can manage is an awkward grimace. Come on, Henry is not that bad, I tell myself. As my parents would say, he’s a nice Chinese boy. He sends me flowers every month, and he makes a decent living as an actuary. I should be happy to marry him.

    But he’s not Hikaru.

Don’t be so stupid, I mutter to myself. I was in love with Hikaru, but I broke up with him for several good reasons. He was insanely possessive, controlling, and amoral, and oh yeah, he’s the leader of a fucking yakuza gang.

    But he was also...

God, I’m not going there. I’m not getting nostalgic over my criminal ex.

A sigh leaves my mouth. I may not be an excited bride, but at least I’m a beautiful one. My friend Linda worked hard to make sure my black hair fell upon my shoulders in long smooth waves instead of being the tangled mess it typically is, and Mom did a stellar job with my makeup, using eyeliner and mascara to make my brown eyes look big, giving my lips a shiny ruby-red stain, and concealing the emerging zit on my chin. And I do love my dress, even if I don’t quite love my husband-to-be. It’s a simple strapless white gown, but it hugs my body in all the right places and makes me feel like a princess.

I consider becoming a runaway bride. However, I immediately discard the idea. Henry may not fill me with mind-blowing passion, but he’s a kind man. Plus my parents adore him. I’ll grow to love him. And eventually, I’ll be able to forget The-Ex-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named.

Hey, boss, she’s here. What should I do?

I shriek when I hear the unfamiliar male voice. Grabbing my keys, I turn around and show the intruder the cheap brass knuckles I got from my uncle’s gift shop. They likely wouldn’t leave a dent in a little hummingbird, but he doesn’t need to know that.

The bald olive-skinned guy in sunglasses holds his hands up. Easy there, Miss Chen.

How the hell does he know my name? Who are you?

I’m really sorry about this. Then before I can react, he disarms me and wraps his arms around my waist. I open my mouth to shout for help, but he places a cloth over my lips before I can make a sound.

Then all I see is black.

Groggy as hell, I awake in a ridiculously ostentatious room I’ve never seen before. There’s a huge chandelier with golden baby angels hanging off it in the center of the ceiling, Ming vases sit in every corner, and I’m lying in a large canopy bed with red and golden Egyptian cotton sheets. I glance under the sheets and gasp, officially freaking out. Instead of my wedding dress, I’m wearing an indecently short black lace babydoll dress with no panties underneath.

Holy fuck, I got kidnapped! I exclaim, growing hysterical. Who was that creepy bald
