The Curse and the Thorn - S.H DARSH

    PART I

I hold a sword of my name, Jacob Marley.

I am not a founder, nor a robber.

I take a lot of sweat on my shoulders,

    To earn a living and

    Overcome my grief inside.

    I can’t yell loud,

I have a thorn inside my throat.

It’s the red blood of my life.

    Do you believe in red?

The color of love, blood and now there is a hole inside.

    Blood, cruelty, and evil,

Were the taste to push the tongue to live.

    Evil and demons,

Lazed inside the Red soul’s heart.

It was a sin to take a glimpse,

    Of paradise.

My story started twenty years ago,

    In a place called Veil.

It was the place of stealers and robbers.

    One dark blue night sky,

I was in bed, covered with an old duvet.

    Winds blew.

    Windows swung open,

    On its own.

    Echoed a voice,

    "Hey Lord, can you listen?

Don’t let our blood become a slave.

Flow us an abundance of the peaceful river.

Flow us an abundance of the peaceful river."

The sound vibrated in my ears,

    Jolted me awake.

I jumped in with both feet.

    Rode on my horse,

To hunt the voice of turmoil.

    The horse galloped louder.

"Stop the hoof, keep your feet on the ground.’’

    The burning voice,

    Hit it from the back,

    Like a thunderclap.

    I stalled my horse.

I saw a girl dressed as a warrior,

With a sword in her hand.

    She shouted aloud.

    I asked,

Who are you on this blue night?

Why have you broken your voice digging the barren ground?

    Without a thought,

She wielded her sword towards me.

    In retaliation,

    I brandished my own.

    (Thunder blasted)

    Her veil flew.

    With the wild wind.

    I was astonished looking,

At her brave front and heroic sense,

    In the lightning storm.

She lashed out at me and said,

    "I am a warrior,

    Stand brave and fight back."

    I answered,

    I can’t break my law,

    Love, passion, faith

    Are inside my sword.

    I am Jacob, the savior,

    Belong to this place.

    Your shrill voice,

    Interrupted my sleep.

    With her fierce voice,

    She asked,

    Do you believe in slavery?

If not, Why do you allow people to bleed?

    "There is no mercy here.

Go and find your own land."

    I replied,

"I am not a slave, to follow your orders.

    Look at the stormy sky.

    She didn’t lose her light.

How can you cross the line?"

    She listened with tolerance,

And asked me to ride along with her.

    She said,

"Don’t be afraid, my words are sharp.

Take your sword, if it breaks your trust."

    I replied,

"I am a savior from my blood.

I go where the storm blows.

What do you want me for?"

    There was a long silence.

    Without any second thought.

    I rode with her,

    Into the dark woods.

    We rode our horses.

    After a long ride,

    We halted for food.

Then she finally uttered some words.

    She said,

"I am taking you to Scarlet, my birthplace.

It was named after its King."

    I replied,

"I heard about the King Scarlet.

    He was a hefty king,

But now his people are enslaved."

Do you want me to be a slave?

    "I am good and proud.

Don’t take me to the loud.

It’s good to live in the blood,

    Then an immoral ground."

    She replied,

    "Before you dig my grief,

Let me dig on my own.

I am the daughter of the King Scarlet."

    "My father Scarlet,

    Was a humble man.

He gave his golden life to

    His people and land.

    Now his blood is in

    My veins and

    Warrior in my soul."

    "The day black clouds

    Fell at the Scarlet.

    Thousands collapsed in woe.

The bright land became sterile ground.

    Chaos surrounded until today."

    I asked,

"Why do you want to head towards it?

    If you cannot breathe inside."

    She breathed heavily.

    She replied,

    "My father was cursed.

How can I leave his sword?"

    "I will quest for peace,

    Until there is a single

Drop of blood left in my veins."

    After a long silence,

    She held her sword tight.

    Grounded in her voice.

    She said,

    "I can’t hold my
