About this ebook
Despite such horrific circumstances, Mary is thankful for one thing: Daddy isn’t hurting her little sister Lucy. As long as his focus is elsewhere, he won’t have a reason to…right? That’s what Mary believes, but that won’t last forever. She knows Lucy is in danger of being their father’s next abuse victim. It’s only a matter of time.
When Mary’s mother dies, the web of incest and deceit unravels, and Mary’s worst nightmare comes to life.

Abused - Rita Michaels
THIRTEEN
ONE
Trenton, New Jersey.
Mary shut her eyes firmly, blocking off the huge image before her. Her father’s bulky body straddled her as he did to her what a boyfriend, a fiancé, or a husband would. His grunts of pleasure reverberated in their barely decorated basement containing: a long cream, flowered couch, which served as the incest bed, a brown floor carpet, a working deep freezer used for preservation, a bookshelf, a piano, and an entrance leading to the guest toilet and bathroom.
She heard the main entrance door open and tensed in fear. Her father, oblivious of his surroundings, and his grunts, masking the sound of movements, was unaware that, they were not alone in the house anymore.
Mary prayed for this moment to transpire for years. She needed her mother to meet her father in the act after he warned her never to reveal the special bond
they shared.
If you tell your mother, our lovely family will split up, and you will never see your mom again. I’m sure you don’t want that, do you?
Then, six-year-old Mary nodded, saying no. She needed her mother in her life and her family. She did not want to have a broken home, but she wanted her to find out, and end her years of sexual molestation.
She cringed at the thought of her mother presuming that she consented to the sexual act and faced the dilemma of wanting her mother to find them or not. However, she was not a willing participant, for some inexplicable reasons, she felt guilty whenever she acted as if nothing happened while standing before her mother after the molestations.
Mrs. Josephine Braga kicked off her shoes and strolled toward the dining table. The floor creaked under her lightweight. She was a five-foot-five inches, slender Caucasian woman, and a stark difference from her six-foot flabby husband.
It was a Saturday afternoon; a day she usually went to Bible studies as a Jehovah’s Witness member. Bob was a Sunday school teacher, and a respected member of the church. She had hoped that someday her daughter would grow and follow her zeal in spreading the good news about the kingdom of God.
She headed to the refrigerator, opened it, and took a bottle of chilled water. It was a sunny and sweltering day. After taking several gulps of the water, she set the bottle down on the dining table and took the stairs up to see if her daughter had done her assignment as required.
Mary noted, all the while; trying to pull her mother down to the basement with her mind, hoping there would be a miraculous mind communication between them. Suddenly, she wanted them found before her father accomplished molesting her, suppressing the initial fear of her mother blaming her as a willing participant.
Mrs. Braga peered into Mary’s room. Mary made her bed neatly, and her books were open on the bed, but she was not on it. She pushed the door wide open and stepped into the bedroom. Mary!
The house contained two bedrooms, and a toilet upstairs, a living room, a kitchen, a dining area downstairs, and a basement.
She knew Mary could not possibly be in their bedroom. She climbed down the stairs holding on to the railing and headed for the basement. Mary ought to have completed her assignment, and her mother bustled down the stairs to admonish her
She pushed open the basement door and observed. Her brow creased into a frown after hearing a familiar sound.
She tiptoed, careful not to disturb whatever was happening in her basement. Then, she took one step at a time, her heart beating against her chest rapidly. She was breathing faster than she should. Help me, O God! She whispered. Where is Mary!
There was a full-length mirror beside the fridge, which faced the basement entrance. Three steps to reaching a leveled ground, she saw her naked husband over someone she could not decipher now.
She gasped. Bob is cheating on me! She stood, not knowing what action to take next. She traded the last steps down, meaning to advance toward the woman he was cheating on her with, and giving her a smack in the face, but she was mystified when
