    Sitting on my bed with another negative pregnancy test, my heart swelled with sadness.

    ‘Why isn’t it happening for us?’ I asked my husband, Craig, through tears.

    We’d been trying to fall pregnant since our wedding, six months earlier.

    At 33, I was so ready to be a mum. Both Craig, 32, and I grew up with siblings and had dreamed of having a big family together.

    I’d thought it would be easier to fall pregnant.
