I love my husband and two amazing sons and most of my life revolves around them and our farm and pets.I have always believed that you get out of life and your loved ones what you put in. When the boys were young my husband and I took them everywhere we went to teach them by example and to always let them know they are loved unconditionally and greatly appreciated. Now our sons have graduated university and have their own lives. I know that they are responsible well balance and happy young men both in their private and professional lives.Just as our children need to feel loved and safe with us, our pets and even wild creatures have to love and trust us to flourish and develop their own personalities.Tallulah is a daddy’s girl but loves being kissed and hugged by all her people family. Everyone that meets Tallulah is attracted to her personality, she’s a lively, beautiful, intelligent, curious, often cheeky force of nature, and she is not a horse that fades into the background or gets ignored. If I reprimand Tallulah for being naughty, she rolls her eyes at me and shakes her head up and down, this is how she shoos flies or Doredo when they irritate her.Doredo was a shy undernourished horse when he came home to our farm and he has blossomed into a kind, cuddly horse that loves hugs and kisses and going for rides or walks in the veld. Doredo loves teasing Sheena (Granny Pony) but as soon as she makes a squealing sound he runs away because he knows he will be reprimanded.I love going into the veld or up to one of the dams to get to know the wild creatures better and photograph them, of course the dogs and horses always join me, posing for their photos to be taken. When I’m in the veld or garden some of the wild birds get so tame that they come closer when they see me and I started talking to them, that is how Hardy, several of his family and an assortment of wild birds learnt to say “Hello” and some other phrases.Little Milo (our miniature dachshund puppy), barks at me if I don’t photograph him the second I take my camera out of its bag, and Tallulah runs up to me to give me some really close, close-ups.I love sewing, quilting, woodcarving, fabric painting and several other crafts as well, but I adore the time I have with my family and pets at home or in the veld the most.
