Within the Heart and Soul

About this ebook
Life offers events, occurrences that exude expressions that motivate some to act, to communicate or to write about them. This is a collection of poems promoted by those motivators. It is a chronological evolution of Roger Bull's work from 1957 to 2020.
Here's hoping that they convey the essence of his reaction to those muses.
Enjoy!

St. John’s Family
There is a family,
Of Friends so dear.
So Strong
Their characters
And Bold
With humble Spirit
And contrite Hearts
They leave no doubt
Of Love.
The Church,
They are,
So Kind
And Sweet,
(Hangs on kindly words)
Doest bring Life
To all our souls
And Breath
To all our hearts.

Bobby Socks Rock
Teenage lovers and bobby socks
Go together for a rock, rock, rock.
If they rock, they might even roll.
So keep those bobby socks on your toes.
Let's rock, rock.
Come on, Baby, let's rock, rock.
Everybody let's rock, rock.
Rock with the Bobby Socks Rock.
Well,
One for the money,
Two for the show,
Three to get ready.
Let's go, girl, go.
Let's rock, rock.
Come on, Baby, let's rock, rock.
Everybody, let's rock, rock.
Rock with the Bobby Socks Rock.

A Poem From A Farway Lover
The sun shines over the late ocean sea, Bouncing, glaring, and reminding me:
Of the vibrant love we hold for each other, One of warmth and tenderness, my lover.
The sun rises with freshness anew, As our love when I first met you.
At noon the sun's so high up above,
As I am now so far away from you, my love.
The sun may set; its light dies from sight,
But our love will stand through the night.
God's Love
You must make your love reach out and grab hold of God's love;
make it distort out of shape, swirl, and intermingle into one with
His; and make it an everlasting, time-forgetting Truth and Happiness.
In Love And In War
Brown are the eyes
of my darling, my dear.
Brown is the hair,
of my darling, my dear.
Red are the hearts,
I color for my darling.
White is the love,
I show for my dear.
Brown are the uniforms,
that I'll be wearing.
Brown is the mud,
I'll be crawling in, too.
Red are the men,
that I'll be fighting.
White is my face,
after dying for you.
That's Life
I have many friends,
Many friends have I,
I hold no grudge for past miseries.
But, one can't please all,
And all can't please one,
So, there are still those who hate me.

Faith
Faith is knowing that God is watching;
Truth is God who is all Right;
Love is Truth shared in a special way;
Friendship is Love shared in common;
Charity is Friendship; Happiness is Charity;
Hope is the yearning for Happiness;
Action fulfills Hope; Doing is Action;
Caution is Doing with Faith;
Faith is knowing that God is watching.

Black, Black, Black, Black
Black, black, black, black,
Why does man put evil on black?
Bananas ripening turn to black.
Apples ripening turn to black.
Toast that's burning turns to black.
Villians wear nothing but black.
Black, black, black, black,
What does man do with his brothers of black?
He wants to send them all right back,
To the land that is all black.
Is this right, to send them back,
Just because they all are black?
Black, black, black, black,
Makes no difference if they're black.
Treat them right and they'll treat you back
Like you are another of black.
Treat them like you were of black.
Black, black, black, black.
But The Idea Gets Across
Rythme, ryhmn, broken time,
I write as rough as the edge of a dime.
Thoughts, themes, ideas, schemes,
I've got plenty of them, in my dreams....
Smoothness? Yes, sir!
I will try,
But like the dime,
That's rough on edge,
My works pass on in time,
And they act as though a wedge.
Place them in their right spots,
And watch them open your thoughts.
Read them when they're red hot,
And you'll like what you have bought.
The price is not in money,
But the time is what it costs.
They may not read like honey,
But the idea gets across.
But, Yet, He's Caged In
He walks out to the park at night;
He strips his clothes from his body;
And he screams, with agony,
Ahhhhhh! I'm free! I'm free! I'm free!
But, yet, he's caged in.
But, yet, he's caged in.
Carry On Our Fluxing Life
Sitting by the candle light,
Looking into faces, bright,
We reminisce in things so right,
And, for the things that we must fight,
We raise our fists so grimly tight.
Why can't we see the guiding light
That leads us on to things so right?
To end our, sometimes, lonesome life?
Must we go through ghastly strife?
Then comes one from a thinking life,
One who holds truths from Jesus Christ.
He says we must smile and must bite
And carry on our fluxing life.
Death In Poetic Circles
The poets write good material.
The audiences learn good material.
The poets write better material.
The audiences learn better material.
The poets write the best material.
The audiences learn the best material.
The poets write the best material.
The audiences cry for the Best material.
The poets try for the Best material.
The audiences cry for the Best material.
The poets die with the best material.
The audiences loose the best material.
The poets write good material.
The audiences learn good material....
When will it end?
What do people want?
Will they kill us all?
For All, We Thank THEE
The grass in the meadows,
The birds in the trees,
The sun in the sky,
For all, we thank Thee.
The joy in the smiling,
The warmth in the sharing,
The love in the giving,
For all, we thank Thee.
Forgiveness in Your Mercy,
Blessings in Your Grace,
Happiness in Your Presence,
