Trojan Horse Power - Blake Hoena

    CHAPTER 1

    NO THUNDERTRUCKS ALLOWED

    VRRR! VRRR! engines roar.

    BEEP! BEEP! fans cheer.

    Odysseus SCRRREEECHES! to a halt.

Where is all that noise coming from? he wonders.

He glances around. Off to the side he sees The Pit. The large arena sits in the center of the city of Trolympia.

From inside come the loud HONKS! and BEEPS! of excited fans.

I didn’t know there was a competition today, Odysseus says.

Then he hears the VROOOM! VROOOM! of revving engines. That is followed by a CRASH! as well as a thundering BOOM! Then there are more HONKS! and more BEEPS!

I’m missing out on the fun! Odysseus blares.

He ZOOMS! off in a cloud of dust and races toward The Pit.

Odysseus is surprised that Hercules or B-Phon did not tell him about the event. Or even Atalanta or Perseus. They are his best friends.

How could they forget about me? he wonders.
