THE HAUNTING:
The City Of Caves is a man-made network of over 800 caves beneath the streets of Nottingham. Dating back over 1,000 years, they’ve been used as everything from business premises to air raid shelters during World War 2. They were inhabited from at least the 17th century to 1845, when the St. Mary’s Inclosure Act banned the selling and renting of cellars and caves as homes for the poor. The only Medieval underground tannery in the country is located in the caves, and you can still see where the underground public houses would once have been.
