Reviews for Stranger Planet
131 ratings4 reviews
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5As delightful and witty as the first one.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5More from the popular webcomic featuring bluish beings with peculiar speech patterns living lives eerily similar to ours. As with the first book, this is highly enjoyable for fans, or for those who are just a little familiar with the comic but want more. And, as with the first book, much of the content has already been posted online. No need to have read the other book, or indeed, any of the comics before diving in -- it's not necessary to read them sequentially.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5The second collection of Strange Planet comics, featuring aliens who experience all the activities of normal human lives, but describe them in terms that are literally accurate, but hilariously strange. (Example: they address the problem of a barking dog by observing "We must convince the creature to yell at fewer things.") In this volume, we see them experiencing holidays, pets, food, children, and music. As with the first installment, it's all very charming and laugh-out-loud funny and even a little bit philosophical.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Still amusing, but the novelty of the alien-speak has worn off a bit as the cartoonist riffs again on sports, kids, and pets.
