About this ebook

The Sanctified Truth tells of a divine call which the author answers and finds that being born again is not a destination but the start of a journey. It is a journey punctuated by the pull to look in the rear mirror to one's past and the desire to keep moving forward.

It is a journey that is taken in fellowship with others while choosing to leave certain things behind. It is a journey, he finds, whose path is illuminated by both truth and grace and can only be undertaken in faith.

It is a journey that he invites you to embark on and if you are already on it, to keep your eye on the prize, to run the race and keep the faith because there is in store for all who do, the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to us on that day —and not only to us, but also to all who have longed for His appearing.

    Introduction

26th February 2016 is the day I gave my life to Christ. Little did I know what I was getting myself into. Little did I know that doing that would lead me to become the man I am today, and the greater man I’ll be tomorrow.

See, the thing is, I was led to Christ. I remember it all so vividly. We were at the stadium for an all-night prayer, the Night of Bliss with Pastor Chris Oyakhilome. That night was amazing. I had never witnessed so many miracles take place and I was astonished by God’s work. It was my first time feeling the Holy Spirit flowing within me, and around the stadium. It gave me this feeling of authority, safety and at the same time made me forget about all my problems.

Peace and inner fulfilment are the descriptive words that come to mind when I think back to that night. I was in awe the whole night, seeing a stadium filled with people who had such a burning passion and genuine love for God.

What has this God done for them to be so in love with Him ? I asked myself repeatedly.

Remember, this was a young man who only knew about partying and girls. I was used to seeing crowds go wild for artists, never ever in my life, had I seen these many people shout for Jesus. The stadium was roaring for Him. It was absolutely amazing! With so many strangers around me, everyone made me feel like we were family. This was absolutely phenomenal! There was no hate, no judgement, nothing of this world but true love in everyone’s eye that you looked into. I stood back in awe and asked myself where I had been, and why I was not exposed to such, only to realize that this was my moment that I had been called for, the moment God had created for me before I even existed. This is when I knew it’s all bigger than me.

Ever since the 26th February 2016, I will testify and say my life has never been the same, and it never will be. It’s amazing that all it took was words to create this great transformation in me. I did not know my identity in Christ, whom I was actually meant to be and what I was meant to do. I really thought I had it all figured out  until that day. I’ve been blessed beyond measure and that is why I am writing this book. I’ve experienced too much for me to leave you out of this beautiful journey.

I pray that what you pick up from this book is exactly what you need, and that you are propelled to live life at a higher level, like we’ve been called to do.

Jesus answered and said to him, Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.

    ~ John 3:3

    Born Again

What does it mean to be born again? I asked myself.

Why has it been interpreted to be so important and life-changing? Why are some of my friends not giving their life to Christ; what is it that they know that I don’t?

I battled  with these questions when I’d hear the term Born Again. To come to an understanding of it, I embarked on a journey of searching the scriptures, and receiving the revelation of being born again from the origin of it all, The Holy Bible.

For this is how God loved the world; He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. – John 3:16

I’m positive that the majority of people know of or have heard about this scripture. What we don’t do, however, is take it personally. There is an obscure understanding to this. The above scripture reveals the true love that God has for us. This is not His love for the world as a whole, but for each individual living in it.

When we read this scripture, we are to appreciate the personality in this scripture to the point of acknowledging that if you were the only one on this earth, God would still have sent Jesus down to earth to be crucified on the Cross for you just so that you may not have a life that will end, but a life of eternity with our God.

When I came to understand this, I was moved by the mere fact that God loves me this much, even more than I love myself. Why am I seeking everyone else’s approval is what I asked myself, and this scripture taught me to be content with the life I live, in understanding that the love, true love, I have been looking for, has always been there:

God sent his son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.John 3:17

In this scripture, John 3:17, Apostle John lets us know and corrects the misunderstanding of what Jesus has done for us. A lot of people feel that believing in God condemns them to a life they do not want to live. They worry about sin and about being perfect, where in actual fact, that is not what God is focused on. I guess that answered my question as to why people around me were hesitant to give their lives to Christ. Now, please don’t get me wrong, I wondered too. The more I wondered, the harder life became, until someone asked me this:

If God was looking for people who were only perfect, how many people would He actually have following him?

I stopped and had an overwhelming feeling of joy and relief because it was at that moment that I realized that it actually didn’t mean anything to Him. All the things I was worried about actually meant nothing to God himself. When Jesus died on the Cross for us, He died for our sins:

1 Peter 3:18 reads, "For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to
