    INTRODUCTION

I’ve always wondered why some people are rich and others are poor. There are many different views and debates about money, its importance and what it means to people. I have always been fascinated by money and success, but even more importantly, I have always had a natural desire to understand God. From an early age, I have been obsessed with who God is and what He is really like. I wanted to think like Him and talk like Him. At the age of 12, one morning while praying, I recall saying to God, Consume my mind with you and overwhelm me with your presence. Make it so that if I’m not doing your will, I will be unable to think straight or concentrate on anything. I’m not sure of what led me to ask that of God, but I wanted to be directly connected with Him so badly that I also asked Him to never leave me and to oppress me so that I could function only within the realm of His authority. That very day, I heard the voice of God and I have continued to hear that voice regardless of the circumstances and situations in which I may find myself.

Through the years, seeking God and money became the two most important objectives in my life. I never saw them as enemies. I always felt that God and money operated hand-in-hand, even before I read the Bible. As I accustomed myself to church and Christianity, I learned that much of the world is, essentially, at odds with the principles of God and money. Many believers of God believe that money interferes with an authentic relationship and experience with Him while many non-believers think that God and religion are concepts created by man in an effort to control and manipulate the poor while extorting their money.

The contents of this book are for the believer as well as the non-believer.

Both may find the topics and the disclosures to be extremely controversial. However, my primary purpose in writing this book is to challenge both extremes to their cores so that they will, ultimately, see God in His fullness and particularly as it relates to wealth and poverty. Relevant questions to be answered include: Is God real? Can it be proven? And, if God is real, DOES GOD WANT ME TO BE RICH?

    CHAPTER 1

    WHO IS GOD?

Many believers think they know God. Even people who admit to not believing in God or not having a relationship with Him seem to have a concrete perspective of who they perceive Him to be, or not to be. They have this vague, cloudy picture in their minds of what He looks like. For the most part, people think that God is just sitting up in the sky looking down on us, waiting to judge us and to send us to hell if we disobey His Commandments. This is a deep-seated untruth. And because we don’t have a clear understanding of the power of His identity and what his existence means to us, we are forever limited as to the impact that He’s able to have on our lives. One of the primary reasons for this is that mankind cannot permanently have what that which cannot be mentally perceived.

I strongly declare that to understand God, you must first understand that God is not a noun. He is a verb. A noun is defined as a word used to identify any of a class of people, places, or things while a verb is defined as a word used to describe an action, state, or occurrence and forming the main part of the predicate of a sentence such as hear, become, or happen. God is not a person. He is a performance! God is an action! He is not a being. He is a becoming! God is evolutionary. Therefore, when you think of God, do not think of a stationary image. Instead, envision a great, massive force of intelligence in constant motion similar to an action-packed movie with rapidly changing scenes, gigantic explosives, thousands of Ferraris traveling at 200 MPH through a 4-way intersection with millions of fighter jets in the sky traveling at the speed of light.

Certainly, the average person doesn’t want to think of explosives, cars and jets when they think of the high and mighty God, but it is essential that I create that visual for you so that you can imagine God in a different perspective. That paradigm shift is so important because if you ever intend to interact with God, you can expect an extraordinary experience. Expect something to change, to shift, to transform. You cannot connect with God in any other way. That other god, that fixed, pixelated god that you have envisioned simply does not exist. If you perceive God in that way, He automatically becomes limited in your life because, again, you cannot have in your possession that which you cannot mentally perceive. A reality cannot exist until your mind has captured or perceived that reality.

This book will prove that God is, indeed, the one who created all mankind. This being true, it is no surprise that as his offspring, we constantly move, shift, evolve and accelerate just like Him. All of this activity is controlled by the brain which is the most complex organ in the human body. The brain remains active, like God, even while we are asleep. While we’re safely tucked in at night, unaware of our surroundings, the brain is preoccupied with processing information; making decisions; creating and consolidating memories; forming new memories; boosting creative capabilities; enabling us to reach new aha moments and make new discoveries; cleaning out mental and emotional toxins as well as programming itself to remember physical tasks which allow us to perform more effectively in life.

The brain stores information in long-term memory through what are known as sleep spindles which are short bursts of brain waves with strong frequencies that occur during sleep. Sounds like a lot, right? Isn’t it amazing how the brain works? If God is indeed the Father that an overwhelming percentage of people believe
