    Chapter 1 - What is the 8:16 Intermittent Fasting Diet?

    Anyone can follow the 8:16 intermittent fasting diet. If done properly, those who tried it out can achieve amazing results not only in their physique, but also in their overall health and fitness.

    The 8:16 IF diet is fundamentally a diet protocol where you have breakfast later than usual and eat dinner in the early evening. This eating schedule promotes losing excess body fat and better control over blood sugar levels.

    The 8:16 term refers to eating within an 8-hour period and fasting for the rest of the 16 hours in a day. All the calories you need in a day will be consumed within this short eating period.

    The IF diet is actually more of a lifestyle rather than a diet. The idea is that fasting periods will encourage the body to use fats for energy. This is shifting the body’s energy source from the calories from immediate food intake to stored fats.
