ART TO SUMARIZE THE BEAUTY OF THE CITY

To cross the city of Quito is to be filled with the most beautiful that a heritage city can offer, history, essence and people who have lived what was built wisely for centuries.
Several cultures have settled on this territory, capital of the nation, where all can receive a cold shading in the morning, a relentless sun at noon or be surprised with a torrential rain at an unexpected hour. Quito is a city that embraces and allows people to express themselves as it is; a palette of climates, aromas and sounds where miscegenation, traditions, art and modernity coexist.
It is necessary to return to the traditional techniques of watercolor and acrylic to help us capture all that human-architectural potential and try to leave on paper the life of this city and even the intangible.
At the same time some bells are heard, the shout of a salesman, the music of a traditional band, as well as the passionate act of a street artist. Various characters interact in this exceptional World Cultural Heritage city, declared four decades ago; Here I find endless places to draw because when we look up from the streets and squares of stone we are also surrounded by the mountains that watch the city paint itself.
Quito is biodiverse for being located in the middle of the planet and for having several characteristics, thus a simple composition is carried out by flying hummingbirds from the valleys to the snow that occasionally covers the high mountains. While the city lives, as a balance compensate the beings that populate forests, warm plains and badlands; The district is neighbor of a condor ́s flying or the habitat of a shy bear, fragile representatives of a huge biodiversity.
The city and nature inspired artistic work that is not limited but leaves of a notebook and also open the paper for awaiting watercolors and brushes. This experience does not end but maintains the rhythm of a dancer, the brightness of gold leaf, the smoke of a locomotive; This art is a sharing of what we capture with peace and at the same time energy, although rather I think Quito gives me that sensitivity

Atravesar Quito es llenarse de lo mas hermoso que una ciudad patrimonial puede ofrecer: historia, esencia y unos habitantes que mantienen vivo lo edificado sabiamente durante siglos.
Al mismo tiempo se escuchan unas campanas, el grito de un vendedor, la alegría de una banda de pueblo, así como el acto apasionado de un artista callejero. Diversos personajes interactúan en este excepcional Patrimonio Cultural de la Humanidad declarado así hace ya cuatro décadas; aquí encuentro sitios infinitos por dibujar pues al levantar la mirada desde las calles y plazas de piedra me envuelven también las montañas que miran la ciudad pintarse por sí sola.
Quito es biodiversa por ubicarse en la mitad del planeta y por poseer varias elevaciones características cada una, así nos proveen una composición simple el volar de los colibríes desde los valles hasta la nieve que ocasionalmente cubre las montañas altas. Mientras la ciudad vive, como una balanza compensan los seres que pueblan bosques, planicies cálidas y páramos; el distrito es vecino del volar de un cóndor o el hábitat de un tímido oso de anteojos frágiles representantes de esa enorme biodiversidad.
El conjunto ciudad y naturaleza inspiran este trabajo artístico que no se limita sino deja abierto el cuaderno, el papel y en espera unas acuarelas y pinceles. Esta experiencia no termina sino mantiene el ritmo de un danzante, el brillo del pan de oro, así como el humo de una locomotora; este arte es un compartir de lo que captamos con paz y a la vez energía, aunque mas bien creo que Quito me brinda esa sensibilidad.
