About The Devil's Deed
Amblin & Lester is the largest military contractor in the Southeast. It also has a secret: one so deadly it could get tens of thousands of people killed. When Jessica Wilker accidentally overhears this secret, she knows it is up to her to let the world know. But she doesn't fully understand just how deep the rabbit hole goes, or the lengths the heads of Amblin & Lester will go to keep it quiet. With lives on the line, including her own, Jessica finds help from some surprising allies.
Stephanie Holton is a rough-around-the-edges reporter. She's been in the game long enough to call BS on anyone and will go anywhere for a story. So when she receives a strange text about the story of a lifetime, she's both exhilarated and skeptical. However, even she isn't prepared for just how big the story could be — or how deep it might go.

Nothing but the Truth
Stephanie Holton threw the door open as she exited the Center City hotel in downtown Charlotte. Her shoulder slammed into a pedestrian walking by but it didn’t even register to her. Tasked with covering the murder of a high-profile state senator, she’d tracked down a possible witness to the entire scene. They’d made arrangements to meet at the hotel bar, but the guy was a no-show. Not that she’d expected him to be there. She’d been through the wringer enough times to know that mysterious witnesses to major murders typically didn’t come out of the woodwork, and when they did, ninety-nine times out of a hundred they were fabrications, people looking for cash rewards, or pricks looking to waste her time. Still, she now found herself back to square one and it pissed her the fuck off.
Brushing back her long brunette hair, Stephanie slipped her black aviators back on and pulled out a half-used pack of cigarettes crumpled in the front pocket of her gray skinny jeans. She patted her
