Sawyer’s twenty-second had passed before they had anything like a commitment, and while they had been friends, Noah had been only another face at the party, quietly taking pictures. The first birthday they had celebrated as a couple was Noah’s thirty-fourth. On that birthday, Sawyer had an entire stadium full of people sing for his friend Noah.
