Meridian - R.H. Boyd Publishing Corporation

    FROM THE PUBLISHER

    To Our Loyal Readers,

May peace, joy, and blessings gracefully welcome you into 2020. This New Year ushers in a new decade full of possibility and responsibility, and it represents a time for reflection on the lessons that we have learned in order to propel our future.

At R.H. Boyd Publishing Corporation, we understand the need for a holistic approach to educating and leading the community of faith and secular markets. We want to take the opportunity to focus on the alleviation of social concerns impacting disenfranchised communities. Through the context of this perspective, we are emphasizing the importance of the following issues through our mediums:

    •Social Justice

    •Economic development and financial literacy

    •Entrepreneurship

    •Multigenerational communication

    •Access to education

    •Health and wellness

    •Gender equality

    •Leadership training

    •Civic engagement and voting rights

    •Green initiatives and climate change

Through the inclusion of these topics in our lessons, we hope to encourage conversation and action. Customers will also notice the new look to many of our titles, and a survey is forthcoming to better provide our customers with the best quality products.

This year, we are focusing on having 20/20 vision and Seeing Clearly Through Christ through the instruction in Habakkuk 2, stating for us to write the vision and make it plain. Our campaign for storytelling and co-creation, Tell Your Story, is a call for our community to write the past to inform the future. There is great pride in our story, and we must control the narrative so that it may be glorified.

We all have the duty to positively affect change for current and future generations. One of the most significant ways of doing so is through exercising our right to vote. I encourage you to actively participate in local and national elections and become well-versed in policies that will directly impact your communities.

I am truly grateful for the opportunity to thank you for your unwavering support through the years. For the past five generations, we have told the story of our people. It is my joy to tell yours.

    Onward,

    LaDonna Boyd

    Fifth-generation President/CEO
