Description

In this episode our guest, worship leader and artist Lydia Ignegneri, talks about how God used her worship ministry as a creative training ground to raise up her immensely talented, yet overactive and frustrated son.
Being a mom and raising kids while running a full-time ministry isn’t easy. Add in homeschooling four children, and it’s a wonder that Lydia has time for anything at all. But her beautiful story of God speaking to her about the way in which to bring up her son Dominic should is a testimony to all of us about how we should approach this next generation of young leaders.
Our faith communities are having a real issue with keeping our youth engaged with the Church. Two-thirds (66 percent) of American young adults who attended a Protestant church regularly for at least a year as a teenager say they also dropped out for at least a year between the ages of 18 and 22, according to a new study from Nashville-based Lifeway Research. So, it’s more important than ever that all of us “look over our shoulders,” as Lydia said, and put real focus on allowing the young generations to take some ownership of our worship services, ministries, and the works of our Churches.
As Psalm 145 says, “One generation shall commend your works to another, and shall declare your mighty acts. 5 On the glorious splendor of your majesty, and on your wondrous works, I will meditate. 6 They shall speak of the might of your awesome deeds, and I will declare your greatness. 7 They shall pour forth the fame of your abundant goodness and shall sing aloud of your righteousness.”
