CHAPTER 1

If you think rabbits are adorable.

If you think rabbits are beautiful, cuddly and lovable.

If you're one of those who say that rabbits are the most beautiful animals in the world...

You're right!

Rabbits are wonderful, as soft and beautiful as tiny cotton balls.

There's no doubt about that.

Their hairy ears, their bushy, furry coats, their rounded heads and their big eyes...

Such beautiful animals!

Such incredible animals!

How cute they all are!

CHAPTER 2

The whole world suddenly changed that morning.

David was so calm in his nature science class when his teacher showed up with a cage.

All his classmates went crazy when they saw the little animal.

David will always remember it: it was a tiny animal with elongated ears and silky white hair with small brown spots.

David looked at his best friend, Matthias, with whom he had been sharing a desk since the beginning of the school year.

—The teacher has brought a rabbit into the class, —he said, looking puzzled. Don't you think it's strange?

Matthias narrowed his eyes and nodded.

—What's a rabbit doing in school?

The teacher left the cage on her table and crossed her arms until everyone was silent. 

—Good morning, children, —said teacher Gertrude. You are probably wondering why I brought this rabbit, aren't you?

And everyone shouted like crazy:

YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSS

Then Gertrude opened the cage of the little mammal and took it gently.

Well, it turns out that we're going to start the animal issue, so I thought it would be a good idea to bring in Mr. Whiskers.

Everyone put their hands on their chins and started to smile.

—How cute! —said Ines.

—What a cute little animal! —exclaimed Raul.

However, David and Matthias remained cautious.

The teacher cuddled Mr. Whiskers between the palms of her hands and raised him over her head so that everyone could see him properly.

—All right, guys, can anyone tell me what kind of animal it is? Is it oviparous or viviparous?

But no one answered.

Everyone was as if under a spell contemplating the beauty of that furry little rabbit.

—Look what he does with his little legs! —said Helena.

And they all exclaimed:

Oooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

The rabbit glanced at everyone in the room and scratched behind its ear.

—How cute! —said Alejandra.

And everyone sighed again:

Oooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

—Don't look at him! -he said.

—But what...?

—Listen to me and don't look at him, —he whispered.

And they both covered their eyes. David knew something was wrong... It was as if that rabbit's monstrosity had cast a spell on everyone.

Teacher Gertrude lifted him higher and the rabbit stood up.

—It's the sweetest thing I've ever seen in my life," —said Leticia.

And just at that moment, the rabbit began to speak:
