About this ebook

I am a writer with a dream to one day become a well-known professional writer. I don't have a crazy, intense story of how I got here but my life has consisted of many trials and tribulations, just like everyone else. I always thought that I was different from many others around me. Whether it was trying, desperately to fit in with my classmates, my friends and even inside my own family. I have always been an outcast and for a long time, I thought that was a terrible thing to be. I often tried to fight my creative side, wishing it didn't exist because it held me back from following everyone else's footsteps. But despite the constant battles of fighting to be like everyone else around me, somehow I still stumbled down away from the crowd, getting lost and finding my way back to the world of writing that was a bridge to my imagination. After fighting for so long about who I was or what I could possibly become. I didn't realize that being myself instead of someone else was something I should have considered doing. Once I discovered that my creativity was a strength instead of a weakness. My mind grew stronger along with my imagination. I learned that I was born to write stories, not because I wanted to sell them for a quick buck. But because of the feeling, I get when I open up my mind and soar through my imagination the way I was always met to. It's one thing to live a life that belongs inside of a storybook and it's a whole different thing when you are the one creating the story. Bringing to life an entire world that causes others to step back with wonder and think... Does a place like this, truly exist?

I am a single mother of two kids that are both in daycare as little toddlers. I am known for accepting tasks that are either impossible or challenging for most. I have a big heart and love to take care of people whether they're my family members and friends or strangers. In my life, I have seen more than enough disasters both good and bad. In the future, I would love to bring those stories to life with my words, in my writing. During every spare moment that I have, I spend it with both my girls and my writing. I want to become a great writer one day and to be one, I must write every single day that I can. I will be publishing more books in the future in the hopes of reaching my goal of becoming a writer of over 60 self-published books. Thank you so much for supporting me and my writing! It's very much appreciated and I love the feedback that I get from each book that I publish! Please continue to support my writing! CHAPTER 1

    Grace Period

Hello and welcome! I’m pleased to see so many great candidates here today! The race will begin shortly. Soon everyone will have a chance to become one of us! With every angel standing here before me you'll have a set of important tasks to complete within your lifespan on Earth. Follow each task and move onto the next as quickly as you can. Once you’ve finished, we will welcome you back here. Where you'll be victorious and, on your way, to becoming a God or Goddess! Now, are you ready? Zeus said in a proud voice.

Yes! the angels shouted in response. Then go my angels and succeed in becoming the best that you can be! At that moment the walls in front of us opened up into different doorways meant for each angel. Leading us to an unknown separately designed world inside of Earth where you will be born into a new place without any memory of our homes here on Kronos. As my heart skipped inside my chest, I knew my parents were standing behind me as all the other parents did. Watching their children doing the same thing they all did at our age.

I didn't know how they passed and made it here. I only wished that I would have the same luck my parents had because becoming a Goddess was my lifelong dream. Even if I was a young seven-year-old angel I knew it was my destiny. When the doors in front of me opened up I walked forward before hesitating. As tears went down my face, I knew it was time. I looked back at my parents as I waved goodbye with all of my love for them and jumped through the door before I changed my mind. Spirals of light immediately circled me. I continued to fall as the blinding light grew stronger. My body was pulled and twisted hard enough that I had to hold back from screaming in pain.

I can't take it anymore! Get me out of here! It felt like hours before something finally grabbed at my feet. I screamed even louder while being pulled from one world into the next. I couldn't see or hear as blurs of sound and images ran through my vision. I could sense someone holding me close as I continued to cry as the rubber feeling annoyed my skin. I tried to understand what was happening. People were talking but I couldn't understand what they were saying. It was a different language through my ears. As I was passed around from one person to the next before it suddenly stopped. I laid onto a stranger's warm chest that brought comfort to me. My heartbeat calmed down as I stopped crying. Happy that I could lay there motionless as I fell asleep cozy with warmth. I was a baby again.

    ***

Mom! Where are my shoes? I'm going to be late for school! As I ran up and down the stairs, I noticed my mom shaking her head over a cup of coffee. Seriously Mom you're not helping! I stomped around before I found them under my bed. I was rushing to put them on as I grabbed my backpack, a slice of toast, and a water bottle before I ran out the door. I sighed as the bus driver sat at the stop sign that was a couple of feet away from my house. With relief, I shouted Thank god before shutting the front door.

Lined up in front of my house was a group of kids. Ready to get onto the bus but dreading another day of school, the typical life as a kid. I giggled as I walked to the end of the line. Gracie! How do you manage to be late for the bus every day? You're lucky the bus stop is your house. Or you'd never get to school on time! Matt said with a sassy tone. We’d been best friends since kindergarten, but he was such a drama queen sometimes. You only say that because you wish that you had the bus stop in front of your house, I said sticking out my tongue at him. His face turned red, as he made an L shape with his fingers on his forehead, and he yelled. No!

We stopped once the bus pulled up and the other kids got on. Even though we joked around with each other every day he was still my best friend. I maybe seven years old, but I loved my life and its silly quirks. There was only one thing that would make it better; getting a chance to see my dad again one last time. However, I knew it was impossible after the car accident he had with a semi-truck. He died last year during my parent's anniversary. He was running late but still managed to pick up a bouquet for my mom. On his way home he took the freeway until his exit came. When he turned onto the exit ramp a semi-truck next to him did the same but didn't see my dad.

They collided and my dad's car slammed into the guard rails, killing him instantly. The truck driver tried to stop but it was too late. My mom was devastated when the police told her about her husband. After that, she stayed away from men. My father was the love of her life and she didn’t want another. I didn't push her and knew if she was happy then so was I. When I got home from school I headed upstairs. Sitting on my bed, I wasn't sure why I felt so tired. I needed a nap, tossing my backpack onto the floor before I face-planted into my pillows.

It didn't take long until I fell asleep. As I rested my mind showed a similar dream that I have had every day since I turned seven last year. I didn't know what it meant but there was something almost comforting about it. I love you my sweet. A mother's voice said as she kissed my forehead, I loved it when she did that. Now just remember. We will always be watching over you. A man’s voice said as I smiled. They sounded like my parents and I was their adored child. But their voices were different from my real mom and dad's? Listening to these strangers I knew this wasn't an ordinary dream; it couldn't be. It was too real and so natural. They felt like my real parents, but I never fully understood why. As I continued through the dream, I saw another child my age walking up to me we grew up together.

Hey, are you ready for this? I wonder what's going to happen? I shook my head as I hugged him. He has been my best friend since the time we were born; we were only a few months apart. It upset me that we wouldn't be able to see each other again for a long time. But this journey to another world would help us both become something more than what we already were by giving us each gift stronger than we could ever imagine. After today my dreams would come true. A soft bang hit my bedroom door as I rolled around on my bed. The thought was quickly washing away from my memory. I rubbed my eyes as I looked at the doorway. Are you hungry? My mom said still dressed in her work clothes. I nodded and we both headed downstairs.

I finished my homework as she cooked dinner. It was just the two of us, but we made it work it. Eating dinner as we told each other about our days. We cleaned up before going into the living room to watch some movies. After it was over, we walked upstairs and went to bed for the night. Goodnight mom I love you, I said in the doorway of my bedroom. Goodnight I love you too dear. My mom said in a sweet voice. As we shut our doors I leaned against the wall and wondered what my dreams meant.

I walked over to my nightstand drawer and pulled out my notebook where I kept inside all of the memories of my dreams since it all started. Part of it seemed so real almost like I had lived it before, but that was impossible; Right? Flipping through the pages, I started to write down what I remembered from the dream. I looked out of the window wondering if it was just my mind playing tricks on me, or perhaps this was a previous life that I have had. I found it strange in more ways than one, that I had loving parents who didn't sound or look like my actual parents. My best friend in the dream had a few interesting similarities to my current best friend yet they looked nothing alike.

I wondered if I was going crazy with too many questions that I had and without a single answer. It caused a bad headache that I couldn't handle. I had to find out what this meant! I put away my notebook and got ready for bed. Tucking myself in, I turned off the lights and closed my eyes. I wondered what dreams lie within these mysteries tonight, as I fell into a deep sleep.

My sweet baby please wake up, its time. A motherly voice shook me awake. I opened my eyes to see the fear inside hers. What's going on? Momma? Tears streamed down my cheeks as I looked around for an answer. It was dark something felt wrong. As my mother held me tightly in her arms, she kissed me on the forehead like she always did. "You must listen because this is important. I know you are dreaming my sweet but right now this is very real. You are in my world, my realm. I am your mother, your true mother.

You are on planet Earth, but you must find a way to get out. Leave at once. Finish your trials and hurry back to me. You are in grave danger. Understand that I love you and will send someone to help guide you through these rough times. Trust him with all of your heart, but no one else. He's your guide and this will be the last time that you and I will see each other. Please know that I love you. Her lips trembled as she kissed me once more. Momma I don't understand? Where's Papa and what's going on?" I didn't like this at all.

A monster has come for us. A creature who was sent to kill us. Your father has already been taken. Now it's time for you to go back into your world and remember everything I told you. My sweet I will always love you. Now go before he finds you too. Promise me to never come back here. I nodded as I felt myself begin to fade away from my mother's arms. A loud crash was breaking down the bedroom door. A monster so fierce I wanted to scream as he walked to my mother and picked her up. I cried and fell to the ground watching as he took her away. I couldn't move! I was paralyzed by fear. I was fading and there was nothing I could do. Only wishing that I could save her before the dream disappeared and I started to wake up.

My heart raced as I sat up inside my bed. Waking up from a terrible dream. My body drenched in sweat and my cheeks were covered in tears. What just happened? Reaching for my notebook I wrote down everything that had happened inside my dream, but I couldn’t shake how real it felt.

    CHAPTER 2

    Substantial Evidence

Sitting up in bed, I wondered if I should tell someone about my dreams. It was too much to handle all on my own. I needed some help. Getting ready I walked out of my bedroom and headed to my best friend's house. I wasn't sure if he was awake, but I didn't care. After that dream, I was too scared to close my eyes and had stayed up all night in fear. If it was true, then I had to be on the lookout for a guide. At this point, I didn’t know what to believe in.

Knocking on the front door of Matt's house, I waited for someone to answer. Matt slowly opened the door with one hand rubbing his eye. Gracie? Do you know what time it is? I groaned in response as I pushed past him. Yes. Of course, I do. I need help with something it's important. Can you help me? It took him a minute to respond. Ugh fine. Let me get dressed first. As he heads up the stairs, I walked into the living room and sat down fumbling with my hands.

How was I going to tell him? I've never told anyone before about my dreams. Maybe I should just go home. Standing up and grabbing the doorknob to the front door, I hesitated. Hearing footsteps behind me Where are you going? Didn't you need my help? You better not be lying! Matt crossed his arms as he stared at me like a classic eight-year-old. I opened up the door for the both of us before stepping back After you. A confused look crossed his face, as we walked through the door, and down the street to our usual spot. A small beat-up playground with a large oak tree where we always went to go hang out.

I tried to stay calm as I leaned against the tree, but I felt scared. Hey Gracie, don't worry just tell me what's wrong? Please don't cry. I wiped away my tears with my sleeve and sighed. I already think that I am crazy I don't need it from you too Matt. He nodded and hugged me. I won't just tell me. I enjoyed the comfort as I hugged him back tighter. "Since I turned seven on my birthday last year. I've had strange dreams that I can't explain. I usually have one every night sometimes they change slightly but not by much.

I haven't told anybody because I didn't think it was necessary. I'm only seven years old, right? It's in my nature to make up stories and have crazy ideas. Last night my dreams changed which is why I need your help. Inside my dream, I often see a mother and father looking down at me and sometimes my best friend all from a different world. But this time it was different someone had killed my father and kidnapped my mother. She told me that the dreams were real and that I was her child. That someone would come to find me and guide me through this life."

Closing my mouth, I wondered if I said too much. Anyone would think that I was nuts and at any moment I expected Matt to run for the hills. Instead, we sat there quietly for a long time. So, I hid my face deeper into his shirt hoping it would protect me from the secrets that spilled from my lips. I wasn't sure why his opinions mattered so much to me, but I knew if he didn't like what I said then we couldn’t be friends anymore.

What's the name of this world? I looked up confused. What? A soft smile crossed his face. You know the world that this family of yours is really from? I thought about it for a moment I couldn't remember if there was a name. I would need to search through my notes to find out. Um, I don't know? He laughed out loud as tears poured down my cheeks. I stood up and ran. He didn't believe me and instead laughed at me. As I ran faster my tears streamed heavier making it hard to see. Within seconds I tripped and fell onto the hard cement ground. Looking up I rubbed my eyes as a car driving towards me honked its horn. No! I screamed as I closed my eyes trying to hide. My heart thumping so loud inside my chest that is was all I could hear; at some point, the car's horn wasn't honking anymore and had stopped. I looked up to find myself in the arms of a stranger. Did he just swoop down to save me?

I tried to thank him, but my voice wouldn't come. I stayed close to him as he walked me over to a nearby bench. After he put me down, I looked up at him. He was an older man maybe in his mid-40's tall with dark hair and a rough face. I assumed that he hadn't showered in days. His dark black leather trench coat was damp from the rain. Confused I looked up at the sky. It didn’t rain this time of year here in California and if it did? It wouldn’t be that hard. The beautiful clear blue sky looked cloudless, yet the man was soaking wet.

This man was strange, and I wasn’t sure how to feel about him. Little miss you can't go and play in the street; you almost got hurt! My cheeks grew red embarrassed by my clumsiness. Was he scolding me? I know! I'm sorry I said as I wiped away my tears. Oh, it's ok. I shouldn't be so harsh how are you feeling? Did you get hurt at all? I looked over my body and noticed a small cut on my knee. Ah, I see. Here let me fix that for you. He put a bandage on my knee and placed his hand over it.

You know I haven't introduced myself yet. My name is Daniel. You can call me Dan if you’d like. I nodded and looked down at his hand on my knee. Want to know something cool about me? I'm a magician. I can make cool things happen with my hands. Puzzled I looked at him as he lifted his hand and pulled off the bandage. Shocked I noticed my cut was completely gone! I wanted to ask him how he did it, but I wasn't sure if I wanted to hear it. So far, my day had kept on getting weirder. I wasn’t prepared for more.

Amazing right! Now I didn't get your name? I'm sure it's a beautiful name. I nodded and said in a soft voice. Gracie. I was named after my grandmother. He smiled as he helped me off of the bench. Well, Gracie would you like to tell me where you live? So, I can escort you back home? This man may have saved my life, but he was still a stranger. My mother had told me to never talk to strangers and I doubted that I could bring one home with me. Even if he did just save my life it was better to find my best friend instead.

No, it's ok. My best friend is over there. Thank you it was nice to meet you. I ran off towards Matt but looked back at the man in the trench coat wondering who this man was who had saved my life. How did he manage to save me in the nick of time? Looking for Matt I found him searching around the park for me as he called my name. Hey, Matt! Over here! A worried look washed over his face as he ran towards me. Gracie! Oh, thank god! I've been looking for you everywhere! Where have you been? You've been gone for hours! Your mom is going to kill me!

I thought profoundly about what he said and wondered was I gone for that long? It only felt like a few minutes not hours. That didn't make any sense. No, I fell and almost got hit by a car, but a stranger saved me. I thanked him and came looking for you. He shook his head as he ignored what I had said. I'm just so glad that you're alright! I'm so sorry for laughing at you I will never do that again! I promise!

He gave me a tight hug as we walked back home and said our goodbyes. Both leaving in different directions toward our houses. I don't think that Matt could help me with my dreams or this stranger. I was on my own. As I walked home, I wondered what this all meant. I had two different lives inside my head one was real and the other a dream telling me that it was real. With a painful migraine, I walked upstairs into my bedroom ready to lay down but noticed something moving in the darkness.

Dan stood in the shadows of my room as he walked towards me. Grabbing me he clamped a hand over my mouth. I screamed ready to call my mom to get this man out of my room. Shh. I have a message for you. Your mother Belle from Galaxy 9 planet Kronos was kidnapped last night and you're the last known person to have had contact with her. I need to know where she is. You must tell me now! I searched his eyes completely confused. What was he talking about? My mother's name wasn't Belle? What did he mean by Galaxy 9? Kronos? This man was insane!

He let go of me and pulled out a
