About this ebook

Chasity is the oldest daughter and ‘side baby’ of multi-millionaire, Chaz Arrington. She lives a much more lavish life than your average teenager, staying laced in the latest designer clothes and flashiest jewelry. She has everything she needs, but she’s still missing the one thing every girl longs for: real love.

Even being raised in a million-dollar mansion can’t fill the void that comes with never knowing her mother. Growing up in a house with her evil stepmother only makes her feel like an outcast, even though she’s the apple of her dad’s eye. Even so, with her dad’s frequent trips to see his long-time mistress, and her aunt living over 2,000 miles away, Chasity often feels neglected.

King Anderson is the definition of a young self-made boss. At only the age of 16, the death of his father forced him to take over the family advertising agency. At the time the business was taking a spiral downhill and going broke. King turned to the streets, determined to make quick cash and launder it to look like the company was progressing and before he knew it, business was booming.

Now at the age of 21, King is the owner of a million-dollar legit business and a multi-million-dollar street business. He’s able to spoil his mother and younger siblings with anything they want and need, so for him, everything is perfect. Everything besides the constant nagging from his mom telling him to find someone to make him happy.

Everyone in Pennsylvania knows of King so women flocked to him. The problem is King knows they’re all the same: looking to build a name and make a quick come up. He refuses to be anybody’s bank ride, and honestly, he’s happy making his family happy. At least that’s what he thinks until he meets Chasity.

Chasity and King cross paths by accident and are instantly drawn to each other. As if they were created for one another, the chemistry between them is undeniable. Even when chaos breaks out in their individual worlds, they’re still able to find peace together. But when Chaz gets caught up on the street side of King’s business, he threatens to take the whole empire down, leaving Chasity to pick a side. Will Chasity help the two men in her life finally see eye to eye, or will she risk it all for the love of a king?

Risking It All For The Love Of A Boss - Naya Morgan

    Prologue

    Boom!

The door slammed, and Chasity knew that Chaz, her dad, was back from a long week of cheating or work, as he would tell his wife Linda, a 38-year-old white woman. Chasity didn’t know much about her stepmother—since they never really bonded—besides that she was heavy set with long blonde hair down her back. Her stepmother’s full-figured physique was accompanied by an undeniably beautiful face, so Chasity could see why her dad was in love…23 years ago.

See, Chasity could tell from the pictures around the house that her dad loved Linda at a point in time, but now, it’s evident that he’s no longer in love, and his second side baby should have proved that to Linda. Chaz has four kids, but only one by Linda. Chasity is the second child, and the first side baby, as Linda would put it. Then it’s her two younger sisters who are by Chaz’s long-time side-piece, Dior.

Chaz got with Linda during high school when he was 17, back in her better days, as Chaz would put it. He fell in love with her beauty, and she was the first white girl he ever found invading his thoughts even when he tried not to think of her. Linda felt the same, but her parents didn’t approve of her new-found love. After a few months of secretly disobeying their orders, she ran away from Pittsburgh, PA to Los Angeles, CA with Chaz, who would later inherit his father’s very successful businesses: Arrington Clothing Company and Arrington Energy Inc.

After about a year, Chaz grew tired of Linda because she had become lazy and let herself go. The sex and excitement had ceased, but she didn’t have a problem spending all of Chaz’s money and arguing with him about any and everything. It had him wondering just who he fell in love with. But just when Chaz built up the courage to finally leave Linda, she told him she was pregnant. Then to make matters worse, her parents passed away in a car crash, just months after she found out about her baby. Chaz felt stuck between a rock and a hard place, knowing that leaving her in that moment would be critical. Regardless of the situation, he couldn’t throw his kid to the curb. So, he end up marrying her because that’s what he felt obligated to do and she gave birth to his first born, Chaz Jr, who is now 22-year-old.

Three years later, Chaz had Chasity by a drunken fling named Rachel, who left her daughter at the hospital without notice, leaving Chaz’s number for them to call. Chaz named Chasity after him because she was a spitting image of him. Of course, taking her home was the hardest decision of his life because he had to admit to his wife what he was really doing when he claimed he was working overtime at the office. Linda gave him a hard time, resenting Chasity at first, but that didn’t matter to Chaz because if no one loved his daughter, he did. Eventually, Chasity grew on Linda, even though Linda never grew on Chasity.

Once Chaz felt safe enough to leave Chasity with Linda, he was back to his cheating ways. Five years after Chasity, he knocked up a lady named Dior in Blairsville, PA; a small town just outside of Pittsburgh. Anytime Chaz went to visit his sister Cheyenne, he was sure to visit Dior. She was five years younger than him, and much different than Rachel. Dior insisted on keeping her baby and Chaz being in the kid’s life. Once again Chaz revealed a tough secret to his wife, but she still didn’t go anywhere. Dior gave birth to DeAira, Chaz’s 14-year-old and second girl. But that didn’t end their affair because just 3 years ago, Dior gave birth to another one of Chaz’s girls, DeAsia.

YEAH! WHAT THE FUCK EVER, CHAZ! I CALLED YOUR PHONE AND IT PICKED UP. I HEARD HER VOICE! IS THIS WHY YOU’VE BEEN GOING ON ALL THESE TRIPS?

Chasity laid on her bed listening to her dad and Linda yell. She rolled her eyes because this was a constant thing, Linda argued with her father every day, even if he was home for months straight. But she never left him, so she wondered why she bothered to say anything. Chasity vowed that she’d never let a guy treat her the way she watched her dad treat Linda, and after her first boyfriend Gerald, she definitely had her guard up.

Gerald was a little rough around the edges because he didn’t come from a lot of money, but he had a humbleness to him that Chasity liked. He seemed to be everything she dreamed of and she let him take her virginity when she was 17. Soon after, he became a local drug dealer and once the money started to come in, the humble man Chasity grew to love was gone. She had females calling her from his phone, posting statuses about him on social media, and even had to fight some random females she didn’t know because they approached her about him, before she finally gave up, and focused solely on her studies in Nursing.

Chasity allowed her thoughts to drift away from Gerald and back to the present. She reflected on how she always loved when her dad would let her go along on his trips because she’d get to see her sisters and cousin, and experience some genuine family love. She frequently begged her dad to move to Blairsville, so she could be close to her Aunt Cheyenne, Cousin Dasia, Sisters DeAira and DeAsia, and even their mom, Dior. She grew close to Dior during the times her dad took her to visit and wished he would just divorce Linda to and build a life with Dior. But since he refused to leave Linda, he refused to move her anywhere near Dior.

What’s up, bookie? Chaz called out to Chasity, using the nickname that he’d call her since she was a little girl. Chaz stood in her doorway leaning against the frame with his hands deep in his pockets.

Hey dad, Chasity said, sitting up on her bed and smiling at him uneasily.

He was smiling, but she could see the stress all in his face as he starred at her but didn’t speak. Chasity took the time to admire her dad, the man she loved dearly, and the only parent she knew. He was a very handsome man, and even at the age of 40 still doesn’t look a day over 20. With his milk chocolate skin matching hers, some would say he resembled actor Mekhi Phifer.

How was your trip? Chasity broke the silence.

"Cool. You know, same ole, same ole,’ he shrugged.

Chasity did know, and she didn’t know if he was being literal or if he thought she was Boo Boo the Fool like Linda, so she just nodded.

How you been though? He took his hands out his pocket, walked over and sat at the foot of her bed. "Anything new or exciting happening in your life?" he chuckled sarcastically, and Chasity followed suit shaking her head.

If you’re not happy, why don’t you leave her? Why don’t we just go to PA with Aunty an—

Because I can’t just leave her after all this time Chas… I—I owe her. She disowned her family for me and they died before she could make things right, he rubbed his hand over his face and took a deep breath.

"But you obviously haven’t been happy in 19 years, Chasity pointed to herself, She doesn’t make you happy and after all you’ve done for her… and me, you deserve at least that!"

"I don’t deserve anything for what I’ve done for you and you stop saying that shit! he snapped. You are my child, my creationnot some charity case or homeless project that I took in. You mean more than anyone and anything in this world and don’t you fucking forget it."

Chasity nodded, hearing him give her this speech for the thousandth time. She couldn’t help but thank him after her mother didn’t want her and he stepped up like a man and took her into his home. Home, with his wife and love child. But although Chaz always gave her his repetitive speech, his actions were different, he was barely home, and Chasity barely got to spend any real quality time with him.

Chaz wanted to be a better father to Chasity, but he just wasn’t happy in his home. Maybe moving to Pittsburgh would be a good decision so he could see his oldest daughter more. He just couldn’t risk Dior and Linda bumping heads, but if he could find a house far enough away he could keep them apart and give Chasity what she wants.

Linda was now standing in Chasity’s doorway overhearing Chaz tell her how he loved her more than anyone in the world and couldn’t help the jealousy that burnt in her soul. She scowled at Chasity with disgust. She hated that she was so beautiful, almost a spitting image of her dad. She has milk chocolate skin that is unfairly flawless, with almond shaped eyes, and pink lips that stand out just like her fathers. She has long, silky, jet-black hair that stops at her lower back. Her hair color comes from her dad, but Linda was always sure that the texture and length had come from her mom, considering no one in Chaz’s family had hair like that, including his other girls. Chaz barely slept with Linda anymore to even almost slip up and give her another baby, so yeah, she couldn’t stand his girls. Especially Chasity, because he treats her like she’s the apple of his eye, and since she’s lived with them he’s paid little to no attention to her or Chaz Jr.

Linda finally cleared her throat to make her presence known. Both Chaz and Chasity turned to look at her at the same time. You’re really going to sit in my house and tell her you love her more than everyone in the world. More than me? More than Junior?

The irritation that had temporarily gone away instantly came back once Chaz saw the look on his daughter’s face after Linda made her comment. He quickly walked towards Linda, wrapping his hand around her throat and pushing her back into the hallway wall with so much force that her head bounced off the wall, making a sound that echoed.

Listen Bitch! I let you go off all day, every day. But when you come in here… Chaz said, using his free hand to point in Chasity’s room, that’s when you fucking with my peace. He paused, starring intensely into the eyes of his wife that he had grown to hate.

Linda could almost feel the heat coming off of his body as his blood boiled and she struggled for air. She looked into the eyes of the man who made her fall in love and saw nothing but pure hate. She gasped and gasped for air, but his grip only got tighter.

Don’t… fuck… with… my peace! he gripped tighter with each word, as he thought about all the times she had been shady towards his daughters in the past.

Chasity watched her dad in shock because she had never seen him get to this point. After all the years she’s lived with them, through all the arguments, he had never put his hands-on Linda. She wanted to help her, but her feet wouldn’t move, because something in her screamed She deserves it!

Before Chasity could come to her senses, Linda’s body collapsed, and he let her drop to the ground. Pack your shit Chas, Chaz spoke in a demanding, yet sincere tone without looking at his daughter. We’re going on vacation.

    Chapter 1

I ’m just going to wait here, King told his favorite girl, digging in his pocket, handing her a couple hundreds, and sitting on a bench near the entrance of the mall.

Wow. You’re really a lame. You’re not going to help your little sis pick out some clothes?

That’s why they here, King pointed to her friends that were standing a few feet away, waiting on her. And you got an hour Queenie and I’m dipping. If you ain’t ready by then, you’ll have to find ya own way home.

Okayyyy, Queen whined. She turned around and rolled her eyes, knowing no matter how long she took, her oldest brother would never leave her in this mall alone.

Queen, aka KaRiah is the youngest of the Anderson siblings and the only girl. Her older brothers King and Prince aka Karon are extremely protective over her but would go to outer space and bring her back a star, if she asked for it. Queen knows her brothers are very powerful in the state of Pennsylvania, so she treads light, but any time she gets some freedom, she goes all out, doing things that her brothers never would approve of. As far as Queen was concerned; her brothers would never know what she did when they weren’t around.

King sat on the bench scrolling through his emails as he waited for his baby sister to get done shopping. It was no secret that he spoiled his sister, and this time was no different because he was taking her birthday shopping when she should have been in school. In his mind, Queen was still an innocent little 6-year-old that he needed to protect from this cruel world. But Queen typically just felt smothered, so she appreciated times like this when they let her breathe.

As soon as Queen and her friends hit the food court, all the boys were on her. She took advantage by getting boys numbers and conversing with boys who thought she was cute. Queen was about to be 16, but she had the body of a fully-grown woman. Her brothers often tried to hide their sister’s body by buying her baggy clothes; but to
