Living Life Through Poetry - Sandra Renee Whiting
Thankful
THIS IS THE REAL ME
Would you like to know the REAL me
This is my own description of who I really am
I am someone’s daughter, an aunt
A cousin, granddaughter, and someone’s sister
This is the real me.
When people make fun of me, they make sad
If people don’t have a kind word to say, I don’t listen
I am blessed and proud to be myself
And I don’t have to be anyone else
This is the real me.
I am so much happier than I’ve ever been in my life
No one can make me do what I don’t want to do
When I greet people, I always give them hugs
I don’t make or poke of fun of them because they don’t deserve it
This is the real me.
I am a kind person with a kind heart
I laugh when I’m happy, and I cry when I’m sad
I’m a very happy person because God created me
I am just a person, nothing more, nothing less
This is the real me.
MY LOVER AND MY FRIEND
My dearest friend
You are my life, my heart, and my soul mate
When I needed someone to comfort me, you were there
For me
When I prayed to God for someone special, you were the answer to my prayers
My dearest friend
When my heart was broken, you came along to put it back together
No one can make me laugh or smile the way that you do
You stood by me throughout my ups and downs, and my triumphs and disappointments
No matter where I go or what I do, you’re always there with me
My loving and dearest friend
Thank you for showing me love, friendship, and compassion
My heart is full and my life is now complete
I can smile and I can love again because of you
And because of you, you are my lover and my friend.
BEST FRIENDS TO HAVE
Mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers
Aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and grandparents and grandchildren
They all have one thing in common
They can all be best of friends
Husbands, wives, girlfriends, and boyfriends
They can also be best friends
Just like having a family pet as a best friend
Sons and daughters can also be the best of friends
Having a best friend is a blessing and a gift
Your best friend can be with you no matter what
If you don’t have anyone to lean on, you can always depend on your best friend
Because having friends in your life are the best friends to have.
A MOTHER’S DAY POEM
This poem is especially dedicated to all the mothers of the world
Mother’s Day is all about our mothers
From the moment we were first born, we were their child
Our mothers are a gift from God to help our fathers
But to us, we are their gift and their blessing.
Mothers are mentors, teachers, and guardian angels
As well as your best friend
When a child needs someone to talk to or to lean on,
They can lean on their mothers and their fathers
Fathers, as well as mothers, can be their child’s best friend no matter what happens
Because their children need a mother and a father to lean on
So let us rejoice and be happy to have our mothers in our lives
No matter where we go or what we do, our mothers are there to help us on our journey life
God gave us one mother and one father to love and adore
On Mother’s Day, let us say thank you to our mothers and our fathers for being in our lives.
I AM GRATEFUL TO YOU
I am grateful to you for everything that’s been going good in my life
I am grateful for the many blessings that you have lovingly and graciously given to me
If it wasn’t for your love, your wisdom and your courage and your kindness
There would never be a brighter, more beautiful vision for me to see.
You’re my guardian angel and my guiding light that shines brightly in the sky
You are the
