Introduction

In Isaiah 40:31 God compares the life of a Believer to that of an eagle.

From this Scripture we find a nugget of God’s wisdom that visually communicates to us some of God’s wisdom on how a Believer can progress and move forward in the abundant life that Jesus came to give to us. God in His divine and infinite wisdom has said to Believers that when we wait on the Lord, we will mount up with wings as eagles; we will run and not grow weary; and we walk and will not faint (Isaiah 40:31).

The question arises, why did God use an eagle instead of any other bird? I believe that one of the reasons that God has used an eagle instead of any other bird is because when God created the eagle, God put into the eagle certain distinguishing characteristics and traits so as to visually communicate to Believers some of the characteristics and traits that a Believer should have.

When Believers adopt these characteristics and traits into their daily lives, it enables and empowers them to live out the Christian life, the abundant life that Jesus came to give to us. An understanding of these is therefore imperative to us increasing and walking in the abundant life that Jesus came to give to us.
