The Hypocrisy Of Humanity And The Philosophies Of A Millennial - John Koen
Prologue
I get that everyone is a hypocrite, myself included. Reading in what ways is an interesting way to see how. I am 22 years old and clearly have not experienced life yet but am mainly explaining it as a questioning young man from all that I have noticed from peers, family and friends, even media such as films, shows and other forms as well. I have graduated university about 3 years ago and gave myself 3 years to gain a career as an actor but have not yet come across it. Also, English is not my original language so some words, phrases, explanations, etc. may not be correct, but not everyone is an English teacher and I don’t get graded for this work anyway. In this book I am not trying to offend anyone just merely expressing myself and my thoughts and feeling about certain subjects. Now as your reading you may think a 22 year old kid is writing a book and has no idea what he is talking about and thats ok, this book will definitely give me criticism which I want and am looking forward too. In this book we will go on a literary journey of my experiences and experiences that I’ve noticed or heard from others, so enough of this bullshit, let’s get started.
Dreams
To begin I would believe that a majority of people are hypocritical with their dreams and desires. People sometimes work on them but don’t actually complete that goal. For instance, my father wanted to be a pilot for airplanes but never really even began. I believe to be a pilot is very achievable by primarily going to a flight academy and becoming licensed, I mean that’s basically how it is now, though I don’t know how it was in the past. He tells me that people that were in the Air Force can easily become pilots but I say to him that they would be cutting off a lot of financial opportunities since they don’t really make that much from researching their income again from today’s times.
Others who are artists are not given the opportunities because it is a very hard skill to actually get recognized. I am trying to become an actor but it is very difficult to be noticed by a mass population, let alone people who can actually help. I always believed that acting is not so much as a talent based career but primarily luck. For example, I know some people who were discovered off the street just by walking and having no intentions of acting and are in big projects that pay handsomely. Which I understand that casting directors are looking for a certain look most of the times since they can train or get anyone trained if necessary.
Other forms of art such as musicians, singers, dancers, painters, sculptors, writers, etc. also have tough times. Of course it may have been very easy from hundreds of years ago with Picasso, Beethoven, Shakespeare, etc. but now it’s like you have to create something very unique and glorious that many people would love or just that one important person would love and represent you. Yet there are very many talented people in this world who never get discovered ever who are believed to be someone better than average. You can see many on the streets, YouTube, local theaters, etc. talented people are everywhere but most are never given a shot no matter how hard they work to achieve it.
Jobs that people dreamt about are a very disappointing outcome if you try and nothing happens at all. If you fight for your dreams, then your dreams could fight for you. My original dream was to be a doctor, but not just any doctor, I wanted to be a cosmetic surgeon since I won’t have to work in hospitals or rarely even have emergencies that can’t be made by appointments and plus make lots of money, which who doesn’t want money anyway? And yes the perv that I am would like to see many naked women and make them fake with fake tits mainly. I tried hitting my dream from studying the majors of a doctor in college to try to go to medical school. After a little while in college around sophomore year I changed and wanted to become something that shows off talents and skill and I didn’t want to work everyday with the same people which is the best thing as an actor, you get to work with different people and sometimes the same people. I also wanted a career that was fun and different with every job or project not the same, that gets annoying. Plus to be a doctor or lawyer or any other job that makes tons of money require education and all you need to do is finish the necessary schools and get those careers. Now doctors did not get straight A’s in every subject they are not perfect, they may think that they are super smart but just because you spent tons of time and money to be what you are doesn’t mean that you are better than everyone.
My main point is that people don’t follow or even work for their dreams and yet always tell people to follow their dreams when they themselves did not. To me it seems that the fact they are telling you too is to basically tell them that they did not live the life that they wanted and want you too but don’t really care depending your relationship to them. Honestly people should not give up on their dreams because it could happen eventually even though you want it to happen as soon as possible.
There are many things in life that people get that they never dreamed of such as a career that no one wants, sickness, relationships, children, etc. people did not wish or want any of that at times depending on the person and sometimes it can be better than they expected.
Do not give up because of rejection, people will reject in personal and business environments, even the closest people like your family will not support you because they don’t believe in you, and it hurts. No matter what don’t give up, use it as motivation, and when you accomplish your dreams, all the doubters could finally shut the hell up forever, unless you quit once you have it.
People make wishes on their birthdays and new years almost always expecting it to come without actually doing anything to achieve their wishes. Now their are wishes that are notable and common such as good health or for someone to live and/or be healthy, those can come true of course as you love someone they may remain with you and still be close to you as you wanted but other wishes such as money, house, spouse, etc. may or may not come but you do have to work for it, if you just sit their and wait for it to come knocking on your door, it most likely won’t come.
The dream world is way better than the real world and of course, less stressful. Unless you’re having a nightmare. You live in a utopia and everything you have ever wanted comes in your head, in real life, it’s so difficult to achieve a lot of times.
Dreams are the gateway to the soul in certain aspects and a person’s desires really depend on what they work for and if they work hard enough no matter what dream or wish that person has, just try your best not to give up because it may come and you will remember how it was difficult but will make you appreciate it more when you work for it and it’s not just given to you.
Talent
Everyone has a talent in this world, you may not know exactly what it is, but you have it. If you can speak with great volume and tone in public, that is a talent, a very common one. Just remember that not everyone can do it. Some have small talents like making a wonderful paper airplane that can fly far. Some can polish nails and draw some amazing pictures on nails, even though it takes training.
Many people have talents that people believe is really talent, like playing an instrument well, sing, dance, voices, sports, etc. people believe in those talents and those talents could make you very successful in life since not many people can do those things and if you can and can do it good, then all you have to do is show it off, if you want to. But, if you don’t show it off, then you can’t really make it as a performer or whatever your talent is, that’s ok because you can always gain other talents and do those.
Many people don’t really accomplish what their talents are, though they may be goals for people, but they find an alternate way though life by being taught a skill for a job. Everyone gets a job at least once in their lives, sometimes it can be something that showcases a person’s talent, but many don’t. Jobs can build a talent as well, if you are an accountant for example, and you complete your tasks efficiently, correctly and quickly, that’s a talent, a work talent, and you should be proud that you have that, but enjoying it may be more difficult at times.
Sometimes if you are a performer, whether a talented one or not, you can hate your job. Sometimes performers could get sick of it and want it to stop, like actors, musicians, athletes, etc. quit at times. The reason I say not talented is because sometimes and there are people who entertain or compete who are not really that good at what they’re doing. Some singers for example, can’t sing for shit, but the studios make their sound better, they are chosen because they are young and beautiful, and
