Rise - Apostle Dr. Yvette M. Resto

    Introduction

I’m telling my story and some definitions and scripture references there are more, but these are the ones that I selected. I pray that this book will help others who have experienced or have hidden pain that they are dealing with to heal and know that they are not alone.

God will heal you, so you will be whole again. I have been healed from all my hidden pain, and I’m now able to speak about it and tell others that they can survive with God on their side; that they are more than conquerors in Him and are forever victorious.

This book is dedicated to my Mother, who has passed on. She never knew the things that happened to me in my childhood, as well as my older years. However, I gave it all to GOD. Because, I was walking around with a lot of hidden pain.

He only had a third-grade education, so he could not read or write very well. When it came to numbers, everything had to be written largely so he could match numbers on the telephone.

He did know how to count his money whenever he had a load for the sawmill; he taught me how to do his adding for him. I was very close to my grandfather; he never wanted me to leave after graduating from High School, so he offered to help me go to college, but I needed change and as a result I left Michigan.

During the Christmas Season, I would go with him, if I could, to help him take cords of wood to homes; this is what he would do during the winter months.  Whenever I went to help him, one time we went to the Mayor of Muskegon Heights' house to deliver a cord of wood. When the mayor found out I was a girl, he took an extra cord and gave my grandfather extra money.

My grandmother was very strict, and I did not feel alot of love from her; maybe she loved me in her own way, but all I felt was a lot of rejection. I’m not sure if I was a reminder of my mother to her during her childhood. I did not get a
