About this ebook

One of the most important aspects of Christianity is learning to live for eternity. Dr. Caram seeks to impart to readers the ability to look beyond our natural life and develop a vision to live for the realities and joys of heaven. Dr. Caram discusses subjects such as the beginning of the universe, the origins of our spiritual enemies, the purpose God placed man upon the earth, as our eternal destiny to rule with Christ as kings and priests when He comes again.

With deep gratitude and loving esteem, this study on God’s Eternal Plan is dedicated to the honorable

    Brian J. Bailey

    INTRODUCTION

This book is a study on eternity. Therefore, we are encapsuling an enormous amount of time into a few short chapters. God Himself is the Master of summarization. He is able to say much in just a few words. And although He created the endless galaxies of the universe, He was able to reduce Himself into a tiny embryo and enter the womb of Mary. In becoming a Man, He still remained God and Creator. We are talking about the One who can fill heaven and  earth, yet compact Himself into a seed in a virgin. So let us now travel back to the era long before the beginning of recorded time.

God never had a beginning. Our Heavenly Father always existed, and His Son always existed in the bosom of the Father. Jesus said that He proceeded forth and came out from God (Jn.1:18, 8:42). Therefore, a phenomenon took place long before the creation when the Son of God came forth from the Father. The Son of God is also eternal; He is known as the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last and the Almighty (Rev.1:8, 22:13).

God the Father created all things by Jesus Christ (Eph. 3:9). This means God created everything by His WORD: Jesus is that Word. The Father authorized His Son to create everything. All things in heaven and earth, visible and invisible, were created by the Lord Jesus Christ (cf. Col.1:16-19;  Jn.1:3, 1:10). The Lord Jesus created all the angels and archangels. Lucifer himself was created by  Christ, and cannot in any way be compared with his Maker.

After the passing of time, Lucifer, the gifted musician and worship leader, led a revolt in heaven. Lucifer believed he had become  wiser than his Creator and wanted to usurp God’s position. He was so persuasive that he was able to convince one-third of the inhabitants of heaven to follow him and rebel against God.

Lucifer’s rebellion in heaven took place before the foundation of the world. Therefore, one of the major reasons for the creation of this earth was to produce a tested people who would replace the fallen inhabitants of heaven. Paul said we were called to judge angels (1 Cor. 6:3), thus, we were born to be tested (Job 7:17-18).

At the same time that God created this earth, He also created hell (Mt. 25:41; Ezek. 32:18). Hell is located beneath the earth’s surface and this is apparent from numerous Scriptures. The lake of fire is at the bottom of hell. Scientists say that the core of the earth is hotter even than the sun. At the end of time, this earth will pass away with all the unredeemed, and the only thing that survives is a people who have chosen to follow God rather than Satan (1 Jn. 2:17).

Hell is the place of punishment for the rebellious. It was made for the devil and his angels (Mt. 25:41). It is also the place for all who follow Satan the Liar / the Deceiver. It is the final destination of all who love a lie, who love darkness rather than light, who have pleasure in unrighteousness (Rev. 21:27, 22:15;  Jn. 3:19;  2 Thes. 2:12).

This earth was created to last for a limited amount of time. Then it will pass away. The new heaven and earth that God will create in the future shall remain for the endless ages of eternity (Isa. 65:17, 66:22;  Rev. 20:11, 21:1). Earth was created to produce a tested people, a Bride who loves God and responds to His love (Rev.19:7,8).

Love must come from ones own free choice; it can never be forced. The fashioning of this Bride, a many-membered body of people, is what this book is all about. We were created for an eternal purpose (Eph. 2:7). God will be unfolding the riches of His goodness to us for all eternity. During this short time on earth we are being molded and shaped for our eternal place in heaven. Let us make the most of our opportunity while here on earth. Amen!

    THROUGH FAITH WE UNDERSTAND

Through faith we understand that the [ages] were framed by the Word of God (Hebrews 11:3; Psalm 33:6,9).

It is only by faith that we can understand the creation story or have fellowship with the invisible God. Only by faith can we know that there is a mansion being prepared for us in heaven, and that we will be resurrected and have a new body. It is only by faith that we can comprehend the realities of heaven and the terrors of eternal judgment in the hereafter. It requires faith to believe the accounts that God gives us in His Word. This is the reason Christ told us that we had to be converted and become as little children in order to enter the kingdom of heaven (Mt.18:3). It requires childlike faith to understand the mysteries of the unseen world (2 Cor. 4:18).

The natural mind and all of its logic is an enemy of God, as Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians 2:14. The world by its wisdom knew not God (1 Cor.1:21). Spiritual matters are foolishness to natural man. Yet James 2:5 tells us that those who love Him are rich in faith and heirs of the heavenly kingdom. Anyone with divine faith is very wealthy. They know the Creator—where they have come from, why they are here on earth, and where they are going. They understand creation and they live with eternity in mind.

The unbelievers, those who are destitute of faith, are indescribably poor. They grope in the dark, searching for the meaning of life, but they never find it. They look for happiness and try every imaginable means to fill the void in their hearts, but they are drinking from the sources of this world that can never satisfy. Only Christ, The Fountain of Living Waters, can quench the thirst in our souls (Jer. 2:13; Jn. 4:14). Christ is the Prince of Peace. There is no peace until an individual invites Him into their heart.

For by grace are ye saved though faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God (Ephesians 2:8).

Everything is by Grace Through Faith

Every blessing we have is by grace through faith. Even the faith to believe (at salvation) is not of ourselves, it is the gift of God. Faith is a gift of God. It is also a divine substance. Unless God imparts unto us His faith, we cannot believe or understand.

    Some are Unreceptive to Faith

Faith cannot operate in a hard heart. Faith works by love as Paul says in Galatians 5:6. Faith works in a soft and tender heart. Some hearts are so hard and barren and unreceptive that faith cannot find an entrance into their being. Men’s hearts often resist the Holy Spirit (Ac. 7:51,54). Jesus said to the religious leaders, My Word has no place in you (Jn. 8:37), and they sought to kill Him.

    Other Blockages to Faith

How can you believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that comes from God only? (Jn. 5:44). In this case, Jesus warns that wrong motives can be a major blockage to receiving divine faith. The Jewish leaders were seeking the honor of man instead of God’s honor. (See also John 12:43).

Even in the lives of believers, there are intellectual blockages, hardness of heart, and spiritual pride that stops the flow of faith. Remember, it requires supernatural faith to understand the whole canon of Scripture. It requires divine faith to understand the creation, the end-times, the Second Coming of Christ, the coming Millennial Age, and the new heaven and new earth. Therefore, all hindrances to divine faith must be removed.

    How Old is the Earth?

The secret things belong unto the Lord our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever (Deuteronomy 29:29).

The subject of time, (of when or how long) is a matter that God has reserved to Himself. When the disciples asked when would Israel be restored, Jesus told them that it is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power (Ac.1:6-7). Therefore, God does not always want us to know exact dates and times. No man knows the day or the hour of Christ’s return (Mk.13:32,33). Therefore, it is foolish, and even disobedient to try to predict the day of Christ’s Second Coming.
