    Chapter 1

I can't believe that I was named after this here mother fucking nightmare!  I'll never understand why my trifling ass mamma had named me after this here bogus ass city!  Richmond had yelled out to himself while hiding deep inside of the shallow creek, that had been tucked off in the back of North Richmond.

Richmond was only twenty-two years old and he had already been considered as a treacherous threat to everyone throughout the city.

Seeing that Richmond had inherited the streets of Richmond, California.  He had lived up to the true meaning of his first and last name, Richmond California King!

Richmond's mother had given birth to her only child when she was only fifteen years old. His mother had left the responsibility of raising Richmond onto the streets of the city and onto the members of the community.

Richmond's mother hadn't known of his father and neither had Richmond.  When Richmond was born, Trice hadn't provided him with a loving, caring or stable home like she should have done.  Instead, Trice and her son had bounced around from house to house, living with anyone and everyone throughout the city.

Trice had been raised in a broken home herself and she had been outlandish without the proper understanding of a woman's ways of evolving.

Trice had been grown for her age and she had called herself running away from home at the age of twelve.  When Trice had left home, her mother had washed her hands with Trice's mischievous and outlandish ways.

Richmond's grandmother had refused on calling the police and she had refused on searching for her daughter in the streets.  In Trice mother's eyes, Trice had left home on her own free will to roam the streets of Richmond, doing her own thing.  With that being said, Trice's mother had refused on having Trice in her home living as if she had paid all of her bills.

Back in the late '90s when Richmond was born, the crave for the youth in the streets were to live life lavishly.

The in thing for Trice's generation was to keep endless stacks of wasted money and to patronize the streets.  Trice had done whatever it had taken to be known and she had done whatever it would take to make her money.

When Richmond was born in 1998, Trice hadn't known that she was blessed with the gift of bearing a baby.  Seeing that she had been so devoted in dabbling all of her time into so many different hustles in the streets.  Trice hadn't had the time to notice the changes occurring within her own body.

Trice hadn't known or noticed the changes in her figure, nor had she noticed the growth of her placenta.  Seeing that she had been so impressed with the fast life, of sliding credit cards and prostitution.  She hadn't focused on anything outside of her hustles and lavish ways of making a living.  Trice had been so into herself until she had never taken out the proper time to focus on her health.

Trice was hot in the streets and seeing that she had been doing whatever it was that she may have wanted to since she was twelve.  Richmond's father could have been anyone in the United States of America or any man throughout the country.  The only thing that Trice had been for certain of when it had come to identifying Richmond's daddy.  Was that he was certainly a black man with a little bit of money.

Seeing, that Trice was into fooling around with any man that may have had looked as if he was making a little money.  She hadn't had the slightest clue or idea to who Richmond's biological father really was.

Although Richmond was born as a bastard child and to a young carefree mother. Richmond had insisted on having other people praise him while demanding that they treated him with pride and respect.

Richmond had promised himself as a kid that he'd never be looked down upon by anyone whenever they mentioned his first or last name in the city that he had lived in.

When Trice had given birth to Richmond, she had delivered him without warning or notice.  She had been under the assumption that she had bad stomach cramps when in reality she had been going into labor and giving birth to her first and only son.

Richmond California King was born on the living room sofa of one of his mother's random associates house.  It was mid-day, on a Friday, in the early summer when Richmond was born on South 37th Street without any medical attention or warning to Trice.

Trice had been sitting on her friend's sofa gossiping about random people throughout the city.  When she had started to notice that she was having bad cramps in the pit of her stomach.

Owe, bitch, Imma need for you to hurry up and pass me the mother fucking weed or pour me up another drank. My stomach over here hurting me like a mother fucker.  Trice had whispered to her associate while placing her left hand over her stomach and viciously rubbing on it.

Trice had leaned forward on the sofa indicating for her associate to pour her up another drink.  When she had suddenly felt a vicious rumble in the pit of her stomach.

Trice had been so into herself and so into her hustle until she was unaware of her body and unfamiliar with the pain.  She had been so foolish about her feminine ways until she had always assumed that alcohol was the cure for any and all of her pain.

Soon as Trice had leaned back onto the sofa after receiving another cup of alcohol, Richmond California King had started to pop out from in between her legs.

Bitch, what in the fuck is going on.  Trice associate had jumped up and screamed out, with a blunt dangling from in between her lips.

Trice had sat back on the couch with both of her legs now cocked back wide open as she had tugged and pulled on Richmond's delicate and soft head.

Bitch I no mother fucking well that you’re not sitting your ass up in my mother fucking house giving birth to a baby!  You nasty ass trifling bitch!  Trice associate had yelled out to her while looking shocked and amazed at what had been taking place.

Trice had gone into total shock when she had felt the small body coming from in between her legs.  Everything that her so-called friend of an associate had been yelling at her had fallen on deaf ears.  Trice had been so frantic until she hadn't come to realize that she was giving birth to an actual baby.

Once Trice had finally pulled Richmond's young frail body from out of her young delicate vaginal walls.  She hadn't yet come to notice that her son was still attached to her body, seeing that she had jumped up from off of the sofa without notice or warning.

Trice had jumped from up off of the couch so fast, that she had almost slammed Richmond's frail, soft, newborn body onto the hardwood floor.  Without second guessing or thinking, Trice associate of a friend had grabbed a pair of kitchen shears to snap the umbilical cord from in between the both of them.

Trice had been so in shock until she hadn't noticed that her umbilical cord was being clipped off by her friend as she continued running.  Seeing that she had been moving so fast that she hadn't noticed the after birth and blood that had been dripping and hanging from in between her legs.

Once Trice had dropped the placenta of Richmond's after birth onto the hardwood floor of her friend's Apartment.  She had gone back into shock and had become frantic with everything that had just happened.  Trice had stayed in her state of shock, as she ran out of her friend's apartment.  Leaving Richmond's cold, bare, soft newborn body on the sofa as she bolted out of the front door.

Trice had given birth to Richmond and had left the burden of raising him onto the city. When Trice had ran out of Richmond's life at birth, her so-called friend had willingly provided him with the nourishing and loving home that he had desperately needed.

Richmond had been raised with Trice friend on the south side of Richmond until he was four years old.  Trice's then associate and now friend that had been caring for Richmond had suddenly passed away from cancer.

The city of Richmond had a large oil refinery on the North side and the refinery would always tend to have random explosions.  The explosions from the refinery would always be powerful and strong. Leaving behind huge clouds of dust that leaked out toxic fumes and chemicals into the streets of the city.

Although the news and media had always made it seem as if the fumes from the chemical spills were not life-threatening.  In reality, the fumes that were leaked out into the cities air were indeed cancerous and threatening to its residents.

The residents of Richmond had never complained about the chemicals that were being leaked throughout the urban streets.  Seeing that the refinery had always paid the residents of Richmond a large lump sums of hush money.  Chemical spills had become common and something that the residents of Richmond had looked forward too.  Seeing that they were always willing to pay hush money to keep quiet throughout the city.

Once Richmond's only known provider had passed away from cancer.  Trice had swooped Richmond up and had tossed him off onto another one of her so-called friends.  She had always considered all of her friends to be close associates instead of her real true friends.  For some strange reason, Trice had always assumed that she was better than everybody.

Although Trice had never been in Richmond's life, she had always made sure that someone else was willing to take care of her responsibility.  Once Richmond's provider had passed away, Trice had taken Richmond to live with another one of her girlfriends that had stayed on 25th and Maine.

Trice had been bouncing Richmond around so much throughout the years. Until Richmond had little to no acknowledgment of who his biological mother really had been.

Whenever Trice had felt out with one of her friends over Richmond's welfare check.  She would instantly snatch him up and make other living arrangements on his behalf for less money.

Richmond had learned young how to fend for himself, seeing that he had noticed how he was being used and mistreated for his mother's welfare check.  Once he had been able to notice that he could get his own money, Richmond had started to care for himself.

Richmond would always hear one of his mother's friends talking bad about her amongst random people.  Whenever someone had been caring for Richmond and had allowed him to stay with them in their home.  They'd wait until he was out of sight and end up gossiping about him and Trice to a group of their random friends that had been over visiting.

Bitch, when was the last time you've seen Trice old trifling ass.  One of the women would randomly say to their group of friends that were over visiting.

Whenever Richmond had heard someone mention his mother's name, he would stop whatever it was that he had been doing and tune in.

Richmond had come to realize that he was being raised in random trap houses by women that where addicted to crack cocaine.  Although Trice wasn't addicted to crack herself, she had now invested all of her time and energy into slanging dope in the streets.

Trice had always assumed with herself that she had sheltered her son from her reality and she had also assumed that she was doing the right thing.  Seeing that Trice had figured that she had assured that Richmond had a place to stay with no worries, she had also assumed that she was being a mommy.

The only thing that Trice had done for Richmond while coming up, was assuring that he had a place to call home. She hadn't worried about Richmond or had she ever taken out the time to acknowledge him. Trice hadn't provided her son with any of the necessities that she should have been providing for him.

Instead, Trice had wined and dined herself while forgetting all about Richmond's, hygiene, personal health, personal being, safety and welfare.

Richmond was forced to be raised by the streets and everyone throughout the city of Richmond had known who he was, along with who he had belonged to.  The residents of Richmond had known Richmond and Trice's entire life story.  And the city of Richmond had been so small and the gossip had been so rare, until the entire city had known all about Richmond's upbringing, along with his health, safety and welfare.

Richmond, California, was a small city that had sat in the heart of the Bay Area. The city of Richmond had sat between the San Rafael and Vallejo bridge.  Richmond, California had always held a dark cloud over it regardless of the Bay's sunny weather conditions.

The city of Richmond had always been divided between, South, North and Central.  There where rules that had went along with living throughout various parts of the city.  The residents of Richmond, California had all been familiar with the consequence of treading across other borders.  Along with the consequences of being in someone else business.

The Southside of Richmond didn't cross over into the North side of Richmond or Central and the North side of Richmond didn't cross over into the Southside or Central Richmond.  It was a vice versa for the
