Beginnings: The Queen Faye Story Book 1

This book and story is dedicated to those writers who had helped to inspire and bring such a story to life. Also to those who still continue to inspire each day. You are life’s unnoticed muses to others, but to me I see it. Many thanks to each and every one of you. And hopefully this story will help to in turn, inspire others.

Some of the thanks go out to the writers of:

Elijah, a talented soul and my rp partner and a dear friend close to my heart. Who never ceases to inspire me in the smallest of ways.

Miss Ember my wolf and fellow queen. Who is always up for shenanigans.

Miss Wings the imaginative spirit of the group.

My sister as the Demon Queen. My partner in crime in life and in story shenanigans.

And the other talented writers along the way.

    ~chapter 1~

    ~A look Back: Wishverse~

Sky is sitting in the library at the bunker one morning, it is surprisingly silent here as of late, but she rather enjoyed this quiet time for now. She just would never openly admit it to the others. It seemed almost like a small reprieve from all that had happened of late. She has been idly flipping through random pages but not really paying any attention any more to what she has been reading. She begins to day dream on some past adventures they had here. She thought that maybe she should write some of the information down for those future passers of the bunker to reflect upon and study on their own. One such memory was the time they had to fight their way out of the nightmarish land of wishverse.

    ~chapter 2~

    ~trapped in wishverse~

Some months after joining the bunker, Sky had woken up and entered the main room of the grayscale bunker to see a fully grown tree growing in the middle of the room. How it got there is a story all of its own and for another time. For now, we are here about an adventure the tree and taken them all on.

For a few weeks by now, the group had been at each other’s heads, arguing over minor issues around the bunker. Sky had begun to notice Yggdrasil, or as they nickname her, YJ, was not looking very well. She had gone over to her and whispered to Yggdrasil one morning. Then with a small wave of a spell, produced some pretty and colorful magnolias to blossom from her branches, in hopes of cheering the tree up. This only lasted a couple of days, as they quickly withered away before too long with the mood of the poor tree.

One afternoon, Sky had returned from her time tending to things back at the castle on the Island of Realms, and she noticed that the bunker was eerily quiet. A little too quiet for her liking. There was almost always someone running about doing something or other around this place. Odd that it was as silent as it was this day. She walked over to Yggdrasil and placed her hand gently on the bark of the tree. The next thing she knew, she was sucked up into the large branches of the tree.

She landed with a large thump on the hard ground beneath her as she was flying through the trees many verses.  Looking around slowly as she gathered her bearings again, terror started to settle in her. No... No, no, no... she trailed off in a sudden panic. This cannot be... Alice cannot be back in the madness of a land. I barely escaped with my life the last time, she now said in a panicked whisper. She ran quickly to find cover in this near barren wasteland of a world before the night fell. Because when it grew dark, the creatures would appear.

    ~Chapter 3~

    ~finding safety~

She ran swiftly as she could through this land known to her as Wishverse, her nightmares flooding back to her in a frenzied panic. How was she able to escape this place once before? She rattled through her brain to try and remember her childhood. Somehow the mad hatter managed to find her and helped her to narrowly escape when she was much, much younger. But now, it appeared she was on her own. Unless her friends were stuck here too with her? More panic grew within her as the thought came to pass.

This can’t be happening. This place was only my nightmares, this isn’t real. She said to herself as she ducked behind a boulder at the sound of one of the creatures in this land coming fast. She held her breath and closed her eyes, listening to it pass by. Slowly, she slid her hand along her thigh and felt her dagger in its holster. Of course, magic is gone for me in here, but I can still fight, She whispered to herself. She slowly turns around and peeks over the boulder that she hid behind. She watched the murderous creature drag its large, overgrown body along the dry dirt. It was every bit as dangerous looking as it was when she was younger.

She waited for it to pass by a little further before she slipped out from the boulder, her dagger in her hand and in the ready. She stands a little taller as she steps out from her hiding place. She quickly jumps after the beast and throws her dagger through its back. The creature snarls and yelps loudly as they struggle, tumbling around on the dirt. With the creature turning and trying to snap its hungry jaws at her, she grips its oily fur and brings her dagger down along its throat. In one swift motion, she brings her dagger across the creature’s throat, silencing it for good. She falls off of its body, laying on her back on the dry dirt. As she gathers her breath from the fight, she hears voices off in the near distance. She gets up quickly and runs to the voices.

Shh, she waves to them, trying to get Jaylissa and Nilsa to silence otherwise the other creatures like she just killed would be coming out to where they all stood now. They see her and start to wave in relief.

Oh thank the gods that you’re alright, my queen! Jaylissa started as Sky threw her hand over her mouth to silence her.

We must remain silent in this corner, or risk being eaten by the creatures of my nightmares. She starts in a panicked whisper, barely audible.

Nilsa looks around and now draws out her sword. She scans the area for any creatures. Have you seen any of the others, yet? She whispers to Sky, concerned.

Sky shakes her head no. She then places her fingers to her lips and motions for them to follow her quickly. Speaking in hushed tones as they move along the land, There is a cave I used to use as a safety place when I came here. Hopefully, it still stands intact and we can use it as we find the others... She trails off and then moves along at a much faster pace now.

    ~chapter 4~

    ~The cave~

As they traveled along in search of the safety of the cave Sky remembered about when she was there years before, they slowly found the others from their little family along the way.

They find Dean and start asking if he had seen any of the others yet.

Has any one seen Sam yet? Jaylissa starts to ask, concern in her voice.

They all shake their heads. They continue on their way, keeping an eye and ear out for any of the others along their travels. They fight off some creatures in their path.

So, your majesty, you seem to have been here before? Nilsa starts to ask.

I would rather not speak of my times here, thanks. Sky cuts her off quickly. The memories of her nightmares flooding back quicker the longer they remained in this horrid place. By the time they had just about reached the cave, Wings and Balthazar had appeared before them as well.

Balth! Jaylissa exclaimed when they found him and Wings finally. They embrace quickly and then Balthazar starts in on questions.

Well, Queenie here has apparently been here before, Jaylissa piped up finally.

Balthazar gives her a quick glance. Sky only gives him an ‘I don’t want to talk about it’ look. He quickly shrugs his shoulders and brushes Jaylissa’s comment off as it was not of any value.

Sky had managed to get them all safely to the cave before nightfall.

She had warned them that they did not want to be out of a sheltered area once the night fell upon this horrid land.

    But why? Jaylissa asked puzzled.

The unnamed creatures come out. Even those you see about now, they hide before nightfall too. Otherwise they all fall prey and never are heard again after their screams in the night. Sky narrowed her eyes and stares off past Jaylissa, scanning the area.

Jaylissa stands there, shocked at the new information.

All Nilsa can do is draw her sword more in ready. We shall be ready for them by then, she starts.

There Sky points, relief in her voice that they finally found the cavern. She races over to it and looks inside to be certain. All clear, she calls to the others. Now hurry. She motions for them to get inside quickly.

    ~chapter 5~

    ~The fight in the night~

They set a fire deep within the cave and settle down to sleep. Jaylissa and Balthazar make plans to take shifts for night watch. Sky just sits against the wall in silence, watching over all of them as the fire softly crackles along. Soon enough, they all fall asleep, including Balthazar. Sky hurries out of the cave, pulling her dagger out as she does.

I shall be back before they notice I’ve even left. She whispers as she sneaks out of the cave and into the pitch black of the night. She silently makes her way along to the old dwelling of the day creatures hoping they still slumbered there. Smiling as she reaches the spot and discovering that they still used the same spot. She
