    s Against You is the sequel to the bestselling novel Beartown by Swedish author Fredrik Backman. Translated into English by Neil Smith, this sequel continues the story of the townspeople of Beartown, a small place found deep in the forest where the only thing that it is known for is hockey. The town went through dissension and conflict when Maya, the hockey team’s General Manager Peter Andersson’s teenage daughter, was raped by the star hockey player Kevin. The townspeople went through divisions that feted the Anderssons against those who wanted to ignore the crime so that their hockey team could win the national competition. With Kevin gone, Peter is back to managing the team but continue to feel the anger of many town members. Hockey had always been his passion, but politics interferes and puts Peter and the hockey team to the test. The hockey team is disbanded, and the players don’t raise a fuss when they are asked to play for the next town of Hed. Beartown gets a new coach, and some players remain to represent the town. The new coach pushes the young players to perform better. Benji assumes the Captain position and bears responsibility for the team as well as the pain for being secretly gay.
